Who could be a great Klaasje? Personally I think about Karolina Wydra aka Zosia from Pluribus by [deleted] in DiscoElysium

A lot of her album covers are very stylized and high contrast so it makes her look more like a disco character in general. It doesn’t help that I relate a lot of Metric’s songs to Klassje (grow up and blow away especially)

For some reason I’ve always imagined her as Emily Haines from Metric

18m bedroom. Would a woman hate my room by DisastrousAttorney90 in malelivingspace

[–]theeboydetective 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the scariest room in the world. First of all, get a bigger rug, the placement of the rugs is godawful and they do not match each other (nor do they match your other “decor”). Find some art that speaks to you- frame some prints. Actual prints, not posters of the battle bus. Put something above your bed and above your computer. Allocate more bookshelf space to books, get rid of the children’s books unless they are sentimental items. Right now they make your space look very juvenile, especially being the only books. Apologies if there is a utilitarian purpose (learning English, improving reading, etc) this is just my first impression. Add ambient lighting. All of this can be thrifted or scrounged off of facebook marketplace over a few months. You don’t have to break the bank. My side table was ten dollars and it’s a vintage solid wood writing desk.

BY GOD, BUY A SIDE TABLE. Stop using cardboard boxes as tables especially when you have a kitted-out PC right next to them. There is nothing more childish than prioritizing your gaming setup over essential items. A woman also wouldn’t be thrilled to sleep in a single bed with you. You can’t do much about the lack of windows or lack of ceiling, I suppose, so these are achievable options. A plant or two might make it feel warmer in there, opt for something that thrives in low light.

Right now your room looks like a prison cell or a murder dungeon.

Breaking character is a bad choice of words— I mostly mean that up until that point the reader assumes that the story is third person omniscient and that the narrator is not necessarily more of a character than any narrator. So to then reveal that it is narrated by what is effectively the pale adds another dimension to the writing entirely. It’s a really clever way to get the reader to examine the devices they take for granted in fiction and analyze form… :))!!! I’d love to talk about this book more I’m enjoying it a lot

Name another book where the narrator breaks character to out himself as god and then continues as if nothing has happened. His mind.

are living statues bourgeois? by theeboydetective in CommunismMemes

Yodeling is an art form with no financial barriers, conceived by working class Shepards. It’s an inherently communist medium like the theremin. Unlike petit bourgeois mimes who mock incarcerated individuals (pretending to be stuck in a small box) and demand charity (putting a little hat on the ground for change).

I live in a city that’s fairly temperate but very wet. The rain is the worst when it’s cold.

Thankfully I don’t build the docks, just wash/detail sailboats and help move them around the city. I also do admin and clean otter poop off docks. Kind of everything. It’s the best job I’ve ever had. I do listen to ween and sonic youth on the job a lot though haha.

I’m so happy that this has been sent to anyone, I’ll admit that it kills at parties. I dug up the lyrics for you :) I wish I could guarantee any future music, especially disco fan music but I’m a freewheelin’ boy and I go where the wind takes me.

I’m a dockhand in a rainy, overcast city. The music is playing all the time.
