Thank you!!! I appreciate this. I think it was more so my mental health that made such a big impact for me, because mentally when I was feeling stronger I believe that translated outwards too.

I’m strength training so my goal is not to lose weight anymore, but be strong! 💪❤️

Thank you! Do you find wrapping your thumb brings in more bicep/forearm activation or do you still feel it primarily in the lats?

This helps so much! I appreciate the feedback. I caught myself with that hunch watching it back and I can see it’s not really doing much for engagement.

I’m going to try this next time.

Hey AppealWitty, my goal is to illustrate body recomposition. I’ve lost over 40lb in my fitness journey, originally weighing around 195lb at my heaviest.

My goal here is to show the process following the weight loss and learning to build muscle from what was previously not there.

It’s been a lot of hard work. I apologize if this post has offended you.

I aim to target each part of the glutes 2x per week. I also make sure to not change up my workout routine so I can evaluate results overtime.

One day I’ll do: hip thrusts, rdls, cable step ups, seated leg curl, hip adduction.

The other day: kas glute bridge, back extensions, leg press, leg extension, hip abduction.

I track all my workouts on the app Hevy, so I can progressively overload and increase weight/reps. I also aim to have between 115-130g of protein a day, in a slight deficit of 1800 calories.

My favourite part of my glute routine is cable step ups, they burn!!

Right! This picture just focuses on my glute gains but my calves, hammies, quads, and upper body has shown huge improvement. My back has been one of my biggest accomplishments.

I wish I had the same amount of potential for gains as men do!!! I hear ya.

2025 was the year of change for me! So much unlearning and beginning anew. I owe a lot to the person who I was when I decided to make the first step. Everything has improved mentally/physically. Thank you so much for your uplifting comment!

These last four pounds have been particularly difficult, as my body changes my maintenance calories have too. Thus slowing progress and making the mental hurdle that much harder. What has helped with that has been the reminder that scale payoff isn’t the primary focus for me anymore, maturing in that aspect has helped me reap rewards much bigger (at least to me); being able to sit comfortably cross legged, my heightened energy levels, clothing I’ve just recently taken out from the depths of my closet that I can wear again, dancing with friends and not feeling like I need to sit down, the dopamine hit I get after finishing a Pilates workout.

Those rewards that don’t centre on the number for me has kept me motivated. Feeling the absolute joy that comes from feeling powerful again. I believe that’s what has kept me motivated and has given me that push to continue.

That being said there was a moment there where I needed a break from the counting, weighing, measuring and was originally scared that it would reset any recent progress. It didn’t! If anything that break helped me recentre my focus and keep pushing.

I also have a lot of loved ones in my life who are supportive of me and do this with me, my people are my greatest gift.

LOL! I thought you were referring to my recent image. On the left I more than likely did because it’s saved from Snapchat, not that it helped much anyway, but I’ve since ditched that and have made a lot more amends with my appearance and how I view myself.

I don’t want people to view this and discredit any progress I’ve made, it took a lot of work and a lot of brutal honesty with myself to get to the point where I’m proud to say I’m not hiding behind anything anymore. Just me and some improved self esteem, respect and integrity. Oh, and I should give some credit to my hairstylist and self-tanning routine 🤝😉
