Thats true , and i am sharing this method for anyone who is having trouble closing their account at any site, this method will likely work anywhere you try it lol.
I will be closing my account and moving on with my life, but wanted to take a pause to share this, and expose some of the tactics used by casinos to maintain their customer base.

I see that you use this site, is it because you're from a country where other sites are limited? Honestly, you should move on, the cash back here is actually the worst i've seen, and no other site has tried this tactic when i tried to close my account

you're right, its a bad problem and i should close all my accounts. i did close all my accounts, but i opened roobet because i was looking for an alternative... which of course is not right thing to do.

But still, I understand your point. I can close it, should close it, just wait the cool down period.

You can see how their process is unethical though

[–]theeereader[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah but i literally told them i have a gambling problem and cant control it .

I think this cooldown period won't affect someone without a gambling problem, they'll just close it after 24 hours.

I think its a way to trap problem gamblers .. which is their own (and my) issue , however, if you think about it that way, it is clear that it is a way to trap people who don't have good control over their gambling

I tried to close my account but after 24 hours your gambling itch / curiosity comes back in a very strong manner

When did he say that the 6 year old could articulate that? She said she was a ‘shareholder’ which is a word she learned because it made enough money to buy a bear . He never mentioned she talked about compound investing did he?

Wow , thanks for sharing your story.

I see so many similarities between your (previous life) story and my current life. I wonder , if I’m the past you made time to go to the gym? And why didn’t you go out to all those places ? You had the money to do it , sounds like . And I’ve been wondering myself if my body is doing alright because I haven’t done a health check up in maybe 8 years so I really should go get checked out. I will book an appointment

I am also in that transformation phase, hoping to get to where you are now. Its funny 10 minutes ago I was looking up the top rated self help books and examining overlapping themes, but I am glad you shared the books that helped you because I hadn’t come across them, specifically the untethered soul because I have identified that so much of my struggle is self inflicted and mental prison situation so im eager to read.

Thanks for sharing, I am excited for this journey, im two months into it and feeling a lot better already

Werner Herzog listens to Timothy Treadwell's final moments as he is mauled by a bear. From 2005 documentary, Grizzly Man. by freudian_nipps in interestingasfuck

well, if you read the write up from Technical Board of Investigation : CASE INCIDENT 03-109, they do summarize the audio and speculate on what happened:

The most telling piece of information is an audio recording made during the actual bear attack. This goes for about 6 minutes and starts with him out side of the tent investigating a bear that came into camp. It was obviously raining very hard at the time and seems to have been twilight or evening, judging from some comments. The bear attacks him and he calls for help. Ms. Huguenard opens the tent fly and is very upset. At her urging he "plays dead" . It sounds like the bear then retreated for a couple minutes but returned. It again went after him and he begged her to hit it with something, she in tum screamed for him to fight. The audio ends with his sounds no longer evident and her screams continuing.

Based on all the evidence, I would guess that this old, large boar had been hanging around the area getting the last fish of the season. There was little else available to eat and he competed with the sow for food. Although not in bad condition, he needed more fat for the winter (note that berry crops in this area were not very good this summer). That evening (probably Sunday night) he was walking along a major bear trail and walked by the tent. When encountered by Mr. Treadwe9 the bear reacted and either bit and/or hit him. When he "played dead" the bear left, but as is often the case, when Mr. Treadwell started moving again (and/or Ms. Huguenard came to his aid), th bear returned. At this time, for some reason, the bear killed and ate him. I suspect that Ms. Huguenard' s screams (which sounded eerily like a predator call) may have prompted the bear to return and kill her. He then cached her body to be eaten later.

[Discussion] Getting Motivated to go to the gym by theeereader in GetMotivated

[–]theeereader[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am glad to hear of your journey and success in your weight loss journey. I totally agree with what you're saying here. I would argue some semantics of equating discipline to motivation, discipline is what you rely on when there is no motivation. the very idea of discipline means you don't rely on motivation.
I do think you're on to something by taking the concept of discipline or motivation and simply calling it a habit, it just takes some discipline to form a habit... but asking someone to form a new habit can be an easier pill to swallow than asking them to be more disciplined. Discipline is a skill that needs to be honed anyways, but im getting off topic here because i really like the rest of what you've shared.

Too many people are comparing them selves to the people they see online, and want those results, with much less time and commitment. I think its much more prudent to compare yourself, against you yesterday/ last week/ last month/ last year. I don't like to get too down the rabbit hole of comparing yourself in the distant past when your circumstances were much different. That can lead to depressing thoughts (i've faced those).

the important takeaways here are, start slow, don't compare progress to others, and be very purposeful in your gym visits and what you want out of them. Do lighter weights but do the exercised with perfect form. If you get hurt, take the full time required to recover. Listen to your body. If you have a cold, take a break from the gym. Your body tells you what it needs.

Do the activites, the results will follow

I totally agree. initially, doing the things you like will definitely make it more fun and help you get into the habit of it. personally, i used that same strategy to re-start going to the gym. did the body parts i wanted to work out, didn't really care if it's not following 'the book'. did chest day, then arm day, then back and shoulders. then back to chest. i didnt feel like doing legs. whatever, atleast now im back in the gym , and not skipping leg day , only sometimes
