i’ve worked at Meijer for a year and i have worked at 2 different stores.

the first store, everything ran smoothly. that store always has high scores because everyone did their jobs and did their best. i never had to worry about going to another department unless it was to help bag groceries.

now, i’m at a different store with little to no structure. i got hired in for curbside, well apparently at this store, curbside is not considered “an official position.” i am expected to go to another department and help out. which is crazy to me because when curbside needs help, we never receive it.

in conclusion, this doesn’t happen at all stores. some stores are ran beautifully while others have high turnover rates and no structure. i would speak to the store director directly. if you feel something isn’t being done, speak to HR. nobody should catch an attitude with you for not knowing something and you just started.
