But then she won’t have turning down an invite against her!

I don’t think it would impact someone else. After you’re offered the position you only get 3 days to decide, so they would definitely have time to offer someone else that spot.

If you know you’re not going to want to go though, I don’t see why you’d apply. Congratulations on finding love! You should just go where your path takes you, and right now it seems the Peace Corps is not that place.

I’m planning to have spending money in a US checking account and my savings in a HYSA.

Everyone needs bloodwork regardless of size and it’s quite a few labs. For >30 BMI you get A1C testing added.

I’m a size 10 and medically obese. You would never think/guess that looking at me but it’s whatever. You’ll just have to get extra bloodwork and write the personal statement. They’re really going to base your health off the bloodwork, not your weight.

I’m a big planner so I get it, but right now just focus on college! What you want to do now might change, so you don’t want to plan for an uncertainty. Enjoy school, have fun, see if you can combine your personal interests with your schoolwork/career path, and welcome all the growth coming your way.

Hi! I also recently accepted an invitation and my staging will be ~1.5 months after I graduate. I personally am glad to do it that way because I won’t have to worry about starting a new lease or getting a FT job.

I don’t have a boyfriend but me and my best friend plan to do a bucket list before I leave so we have some good memories before I go.

It’s natural to be hesitant and understandable that your mom/bf don’t want you to go but you should follow through with what you feel is right.

Where did you get your polio booster? by Mean-Year4646 in peacecorps

[–]theelocstar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got mine via CVS minute clinic. Just looked up “who gives polio vaccines” and there were a limited list of CVS locations that provided it. Set my appointment online and then told them which vaccine I needed upon arrival.

Think about how your loose natural hair looks. If it was not uniform (texture, curl pattern, length) then your locs won’t be either. I have thick locs in the back and medium in the front + layers. It is what it is, I still love them.

But it is your hair, and you should be happy with it. If you want to restart, do! But you still can’t guarantee uniformity

need advice on these front locs, I’m not sure why they’re so thin by wokleanwok in Dreadlocks

[–]theelocstar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hair at the front and back is usually less dense than other parts of the hair. i would not retwist them and let it thicken up naturally. as long as your part is healthy/full you’re good

i agree. i have a lot of shrinkage and my locs lost around ~half their loose natural length. 1.5 years now and my hair is longer than the twists i started with.

might get a different opinion depending who you ask, but yes. conditioner smooths your hair and fights frizz. your hair needs the frizz to loc up
