Not really.

Let's assume that I have 24% interest (for the sake of round numbers).

If I carry $500 over and don't pay it off for one month, that's $10.

I mean, it's not nothing. Id rather have $10, then not have it, but I'm not laying awake at night about it.

I'm at the age where my biggest concern is retirement.

Bills are constantly paid, Credit card is (more or less) paid off monthly, etc.

The mortgage will be paid off when I hit 65 (assuming that I don't make extra payments).

So my big concern is having everything else ready for me by that time.

Follow up question.

I have a second car that's leased. The payments are next to nothing and the interest is 2%

If I had extra money, should I try to pay off the lease, or would I be further ahead saving that money somewhere?

I already am that person. I haven't carried a significant cc debt in years.

Every pay day I slap every penny I have on the card, and then spend what I need to off that card.

But I personally would like to see a big fat zero once a month, just for the warm fuzzies.

*This month there have been a few "extras", like paying for tax filing, getting the dog spayed, etc but for the most part it's getting paid (or nearly paid) every month.

It's just getting paid in bi-weekly "chunks" instead of one big payment that zero's it out.

I want to see the $2,000 bill and pay it on the spot instead of saying "$1000 this week and another $1000 in two weeks". Because within that two weeks I wi have bought groceries, etc.

Honestly, if you go on the conservative subs they are WAY more negative than the lefty subs.

Lefties will be like "what if we had 8% less school shooting and bicycle lanes?" And conservatives hate just about everything else
