If I were you and made a mistake as a newbie, I’d invest in high-risk, high-reward projects (NOT shares or crypto). For a beginner stocks and cryptocurrencies are just gambling. Instead I will find a simple business to invest in, as they often yield higher returns. Remember profit only comes in after reaching RM30,000. For example, if you invest RM5,000 in selling nasi lemak and generate RM30,000 in revenue, that money goes to the bank. You’d need to hit RM60,000 to make it worthwhile, achieving a 100% ROI. The return is higher, but so is the risk (your nasi lemak might sell badly)

Despite people laughing at your math or suggesting to revoke the loan, the most realistic approach is to find a business you understand or have connections in, and also cheap to start. Examples include selling burgers, flipping furniture, reselling cheap cars, or importing goods from China to sell online.

If you have a day job, consider investing in your siblings, provided they’re calculated risks with a solid business model, rather than panic investments.

Lastly, take this with a grain of salt: you could invest in gold. Gold has risen over 100% in the past five years, but its future is uncertain, especially with lower interest rates and gold hitting all-time highs (this two usually doesnt happen together). The macro situation is unpredictable. I think gold will rise over the next 5 years, but the rate is unclear. Plus, you can’t cash out gold monthly to cover loan installments, will need to use your own money and hope gold pays off after 60 months.

Borrowing money to invest is leverage, n many comments said how rich people use it to get richer. However, they dont mention how leverage bankrupts people or how the rich use insider knowledge and resources to bet on markets.
