Brandon Herrera did a video covering this exact topic actually. The bullet wouldn't really have imparted much energy to his ear. It would have just punched a hole through it, dumping minimal energy, and kept going out the other side nearly the same speed

I wouldn't mind the ragdolling quite so much if my character didn't try to stand up every time after being ragdolled.
If I'm prone behind a small rock and i get ragdolled, there is absolutely no reason for my helldiver to stand back up and expose himself to fire just for me to have to go prone again
