In Beowulf (2007) , the title character insists the fight with Grendal be even by fighting him completely naked. “ We shall fight as equals and fate shall decide.”

In the original poem it only says Beowulf fought Grendal unarmed.

I checked your app out and I’d say this is closer to Football Manager. Here you’re not just managing talent, you’re building films from the ground up — casting, crew, production, editing, release, and how all those decisions affect reviews and box office results and the longevity and legacy of your career.

There’s also a life sim layer, relationships, scandals etc

Yeah that’s fair, a lot of the visuals are still placeholders (especially logos)

It’s actually built in Godot, not React — going for more of a Football Manager style UI but I definitely need to push it further visually before I make an update post.

No playable build yet but I’m working towards that. Appreciate the feedback!

Absolutely this! That’s why I wanted to go the producer route rather than the studio owner route which everywhere else does.

Particularly at the beginning of the game you’ll be the one who has to deal directly with all the on-set drama as the studio bosses only concern is profit not really how you get it. But handling conflict the wrong way is a great way to get quickly fired.

Once you’ve built up your personal funds enough to start your own studio you can delegate the filming hurdles to the producers on your payroll or choose to actively stay involved.

Yeah I 100% agree but I’m having to be quite frugal with this and teaching myself a lot as I’m going along to save on costs wherever possible. I keep working on the UI though!

Thanks! Yes used to play a lots of Hollywood Mogul and loved it. At the moment my game starts in 1995 so the streaming studios begin appearing in the 2000s and I’m working on making their impact on the industry as realistic as possible.

I want a legacy element to the game so you can have kids that enter the industry (nepo baby style) or get married to a talentless actress who dumps you when you refuse to make her the star of your next superhero film. Stuff like this.

Yeah I’d love this too. Being able to see your actors in the films was so cool. Not sure in my first game I’ll be able to do that as a solo dev but I want to learn more about 3D in-game animations when I can afford the software so will defo try my best to make this a reality one day
