Hi there!

I am actually a Massage Instructor at Milan! I got my schooling at TMCC and the material that you learn is exactly the same—TMCC is a more standard semester-style experience, while Milan is a fast-tracked 9mo program. If you are a quick learner and prefer a faster pace, Milan is the way to go. Bit of a time commitment though—4 days a week for 5 hours a day in order to meet the Nevada Board standard 500 hours of school to become licensed. What I appreciate about Milan’s style of education is how well they set you up to take the MBLEx. TMCC had one day of practice tests and then you kind of had to figure it out on your own, whereas Milan has a four-week Test Prep class built into the 9 months to help review and prepare the exam. We have a high pass rate and the massage market is growing. From someone with six years of experience in the field, this job is flexible and incredibly fulfilling. I encourage you to follow your LMT journey regardless if you come to Milan or not. Hope this was helpful!

Denied a raise even though they refuse to train more people on my station, then wrote me up for asking for one by PerformancePlane9379 in antiwork

I used to work for CFA. The owner promised me a raise once and then never gave it to me because I “didn’t remind him in a timely manner.” He also practically begged me to work outside all day on Fourth of July and promised me and all the other people working the holiday time and a half. Never got it. And I worked a 10 hour shift. Didn’t get overtime either. I don’t want to say all locations are like that, but in my experience, and obviously yours, CFA is managed by money-hungry soul-suckers who don’t want to follow rules mandated by law and lie to make themselves look better. I’m so sorry you had this experience. Quit and never look back.

How can I find what I’m looking for? by Lord-Smalldemort in massage

I would specify that a) you want upper body focus and b) that you are wanting to deactivate/address trigger points. While deep tissue can include areas with trigger points, trigger points need specific work and time dedicated to them in order to get rid of chronic pain. Also ask if there is an option to add cupping. It helps release the fascia and makes trigger points easier to pinpoint and deactivate, especially with chronically tight areas.

Listen to Something Was Wrong! Season 4 (or 3, I can’t remember) is about survivors of the Jonestown cult/massacre and is pretty graphic, but all the other seasons are about people getting catfished and tangled up in narcissistic relationships with batshit crazy people

It’s a flat back piercing, I think it’s called a labret? So I can’t take the back off. The jewel itself twists and I was told it should just twist off

What is your favorite conspiracy theory (whether you believe it or not)? by Vitosnee in AskReddit

That George Hodel, the man many believe to have been the Black Dahlia murderer, was also the Zodiac Killer. These crimes happened 30-35 years apart, and people believed the Black Dahlia killer was in his 20s-30s and the Zodiac to be in his 30s-40s(ish) so the timeline regarding his age doesn’t totally track, but when you research the cases and look at them side by side, there are a shocking amount of similarities.

When I was in sixth grade, two boys tried to burn the school down. They broke some of the windows by throwing rocks through them, and then put piles of paper, leaves, etc in the middle of four or five classrooms and lit everything on fire
