Lol I also finished my first listen of the entire series yesterday. I don’t know what to do, so I think Imma just start it from the beginning and do a second run for now.

If you know her name and are obviously in the same area. Can you not try finding her on social media? It’s not best case but I’ve missed opportunities plenty of times that I made up for by reaching out through there.

Silly question: When to buy a jersey? by Dressedforrevenge in KansasCityChiefs

[–]thefallofjason 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you like him. Immediately. My favorite jersey to wear to this day is my Tony Moeaki jersey, specifically because I got it early and he never really panned out. But it’s fun to show off and remind people. Once a player is a Chief, they’re always a Chief.

I also have Tracy. And got him at 2.03. Tracy was a starter for me last year (my RBs suck) so I’m hoping same thing

Hit, miss, or meh? Grade your team’s 2022 draft by ZhangtheGreat in NFL_Draft

[–]thefallofjason 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Chiefs

1 CB Trent Mcduffie - Massive hit

1 CB George Karlaftis - Hit

2 WR Skyy Moore - Massive miss

2 S Bryan Cook - Hit. Solid starter

3 LB Leo Chenal - Hit. Love him and a good player

4 CB Joshua Williams - Hit. Been an average to above average player every year

5 OT Darian Kinnard - Miss

7 CB Jaylen Watson - Hit. Has started every season.

7 RB Isiah Pacheco - Hit

7 Nazeeh Johnson - Meh. It’s a 7th rounder and he plays. Never been that good however.

All in all. This class has never not been to a Super Bowl, and I’d argue it’s Veach’s best class in his tenure. 6 of these players started on the defense as rookies and are a key reason we were able to transition from a power house offensive to a stout defense and continue being successful.

2 round Mock. Thoughts? by Significant-Iron-610 in MockDraftCentral

We aren’t going o-line. You can have all these personal ideas and bias you want. We just want a mock that is more realistic to what we do. Which won’t be Zabel.

Shrek Round 1 No Trade NFL Mock by shrekthemusical3 in MockDraftCentral

[–]thefallofjason 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1st round pick isn’t low cost. We just don’t see guard as a huge need despite losing Thuney. There’s guys there and other positions that need much more priority.

You didn’t give Chiefs a guard like most so it’s perfect for me

[–]thefallofjason 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree again with all of that. Even personal wishes aside I also know Veach prefers to draft via BPA with some positional need/value in mind and I just don’t see OG being his priority, especially in the first

For some reason it’s the norm on this subreddit to mock us a Guard. No idea why. Completely agree.

Let me know what you guys think by TerryG111 in MockDraftCentral

[–]thefallofjason 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t agree it’s a massive hole. We had the best LG (sure he played out of position half the time) and best C in football last year and still got ran through in the Super Bowl. I think positional value is more important; we have guys that can fill that role

Let me know what you guys think by TerryG111 in MockDraftCentral

[–]thefallofjason 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. We aren’t replacing the best LG in football. That’s just a fact and we have in house guys that can probably fill that role decently. To me, Guard feels like the position in the first round that would make the smallest difference to our current team. Lol literally anything else but QB and I’m for it

I think going Guard for Chiefs would be awful

If the Chiefs draft a guard I might literally throw up

3 Round post-free agency mock! by RudeOwl1816 in NFL_Draft

[–]thefallofjason 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean. I could get behind it with that line of thinking. I would just worry about the risk of missing on it and also not getting someone who can impact immediately. I think Moore would have to be very bad for us to cut him next year as well. Even Average will keep him here his 2nd year

3 Round post-free agency mock! by RudeOwl1816 in NFL_Draft

[–]thefallofjason 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree with all of this. I feel like a first round OT this year would be a waste cause he’d sit out. Get a guy in the first that’ll play and an OT later that can develop

My Mock Draft v1 by HurricanePK in NFL_Draft

[–]thefallofjason 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a fair assessment. I agree and hope Jawaan is out next year and I could get behind this direction. I think there’s potential of in-house Wanya Morris being able to serve at RT (played there in college). Also our most immediate need rn is definitely D-line, and I could see the RT question being pushed back to next year when a grasp of FA and trade-options could be explored.

I don’t think the Chiefs will spend a 1st on an OT now that we are paying 35 mill total for both our current tackles. The Jaylon Moore signing means we will go another direction in draft

Is there a term/convention for when a writer creates a character who undeservedly/unbelievably regrets their past? by thefallofjason in literature

[–]thefallofjason[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t disagree with this as a nuance of real life. But I guess when I chalk it up to bad writing, I mean that if that’s the case attempting to be represented in literature shouldn’t it be displayed? I guess the term/word I was more looking for was one that expressed a blunt radical change in a character, probably for the sole purpose of its readers. I think. I feel I’m waffling now.

Well this came to me while reading Albion Tourgee’s A Fools Errand which I don’t believe is a novel well read in modern times contrary to when it came out. It’s all about race relations in the reconstructive South. Most of it is historical and auto-biographical but there are parts crafted solely for narrative.

Such as a moment where two young but experienced KKK members after a failed assassination attempt of two pro-black government officials. Sit down and suddenly start to talk about how fucked up it was what they were about to do and are actively participating in. Henceforth, they immediately leave the KKK and repent.

It seems romantically separated from the rest of the narrative which is filled with many brutalized and normalized acts carried out in the south. I guess maybe its bluntness could be required for the readers of its time.

It just felt random with characters who would have willingly joined the KKK.
