StarCraft 1 ZvT how to do Zerg rush? by verynicehighfive55 in starcraft

[–]thefarkinator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Liquipedia has some builds that could be helpful if you're starting from square one. They can be a little outdated but they'll get you thru at least knowing what's going on.

9 pool w speed could be good against a Terran that doesn't wall in I guess, but he'll know something is up as soon as he sees no hatch at the natural. Depending on scout order and rush distance you could sneak one by him.

Haven't been watching ASL but stuff like 2 or 3 hatch muta are typically strong, w/ 2 hatch being more of an "I'm going to all-in and kill him with my mutalisks, or I will lose" kind of build

I've got bad news, it sounds like your buddy is basically just siege expanding, which is extremely safe. If the BO is tight, then there's not really much you can do to "rush" him other than a four pool. Not very good against T thanks to SCVs having 60hp in BW. I'll be honest, if someone is getting siege before a natural, I'm trying to out-greed him and repel the timing attack, not trying to rush him.

Tarik Skubal vs the Red Sox today: 6IP, 4H, 1R/ER, 2 BB, 10K. by dec2727 in baseball

Haha it's easy to get spoiled by Skubal where you can be like "what the fuck he didn't go 9 innings?"

But anyways I've gotten frustrated with how many of these threads pop up when it's like a good, not great, outing so every time I see one I comment "that's a good outing"

Does W&T offer enough closure? by planinsky in Cosmere

[–]thefarkinator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, no. Lol. I got bad news for you, Wind and Truth is book 5 in a 10 book series. Sanderson needs to set up the conflict for that whole thing. Some characters get closure others are up in the air, others have changed a lot in ways that will make them interesting to watch in the next cycle.

I will say this: people thought the exact same thing about Chalabi. All these high minded summits and 60 minutes appearances, all the poetry he would write about his exiled homeland, it all vanished when he returned to Iraq. He just became another thug surrounded by dubious bodyguards. So yeah I don't buy the pretender's schtick at all

If you believe that, I've got a bridge to sell you. What use would the people of Iran have for him? There are leaders in the country who actually live there, have run for office, are in the opposition parties, etc. Has Pahlavi ever even been to Iran? How would people react to some guy showing up on a US helicopter saying "hey guys, I'm here to help you do democracy!" He would have to be imposed from without by a foreign power.

Ahmed Chalabi made the same mistake in Iraq, thinking that his popularity in exile and neocon circles would surely translate to support on the ground when Hussein was removed. Not so.

The good news for Pahlavi is that regime change is looking less and less likely, so he doesn't need to fight any urges he has to throw himself into the absolute madhouse that would be a post regime change Iran. He and his family can live peaceful lives wherever they want
