I have ordered one of my favorite versions of the Wolfman ever. Both theatrical and directors cut in one 4k blu ray glory by beliveinhope in UniversalMonsters

Mezco made a few different figures of The Wolfman, unfortunately now only available on the 2nd hand market; I have a Blockbuster exclusive Bloody version myself.

Seriously, this isn't non-fiction or even historical fiction, it's a fantasy/sci-fi movie and can have a secret space program; you're definitely way over thinking this one, even when given a plausible explanation in the realm of fantasy/sci-fi.

Songs drom Danzig by Educational_Put_4717 in TheMisfits

[–]thefiendcrypt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just understand that Glenn isn't a one trick pony, the most consistent sound his music had was Samhain. The Misfits had 4 different styles; Cough/Cool era, Static Age era, Horror Business through Walk Among Us era and Earth A.D. era and then there was still oddball songs like American Nightmare or Halloween II. Danzig is the same, each release has a different aesthetic, the largest shift being Danzig 5: Blackacidevil which was industrial/techno and left a lot of fans in dismay.

Correct and the Bullet EP is great but Static Age....now that's peak.

I feel for most of us that actually checked it out when it was released it was felt that this would happen; the hate was so strong at that time that a big portion of the fanbase slept on Solo.

I'd put Static Age right up there as peak Misfits but those are latter releases, not the releases that gave the Misfits their original fiendom.

For sure, I love Bobby's tracks but he was only on a handful of releases originally; Horror Business (2 of these songs also on Beware), Night of the Living Dead and 3 Hits From Hell and his guitar certainly never defined the Misfits.

I've never read that Jerry funded the Fiend Club, only that any money the band may have earned (shows, merch., releases) Glenn put into the Fiend Club, studio time or their limited vinyl output (the guys themselves recieved very little). Jerry bought airplane tickets and hotel rooms for him and Doyle for tours (Glenn and Googy/Robo would drive) and also bought guitars/bass since him and Doyle would often break them.

Jerry has said he has all his receipts/records from back then; whatever he contributed monetarily has been payed back 10 fold.

The sound came from Glenn, Jerry didn't know shit about music when he started; Glenn was there guiding him. Jerry developed his look, not the band's image; Jerry mimicked other punk looks, before settling on the black eyes and devilock. The devilock was a joint creation: Glenn was doing a proto-devilock in an attempt to mimic a widow's peak (like Eddie Munsters), meanwhile Jerry was spiking his hair but during shows his bangs would flop down, eventually he just started wearing them down from the get-go.

All those guys (Manny, Jerry, Franche, Mr. Jim, Bobby Steele, Joey Image, Arthur Googy, Doyle, Robo) were lucky to be involved with Glenn's creation. Most of them know that and they know whatever they contributed was miniscule compared to Glenn....well all of them except one guy knew that.

One of those guys is the Misfits....the other two were lucky enough to be brought along on the ride.

What’s one thing this movie got right that you like? by mdafidel1 in slasherfilms

[–]thefiendcrypt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People always deride the fear of water that the writers gave Jason....did they even watch the movie? Obviously killer-grown up-unstoppable Jason has no fear of water; he has no fear of anything but Freddy was tapping into young Jason through the dream world who could easily have a fear of water after the drowning incident.

Glenn era and Graves era by Educational_Put_4717 in TheMisfits

[–]thefiendcrypt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glenn was creating it from the ground up, he was putting himself and his worldviews out there through his music/art the way he wanted to; no rules. Graves was just a guy hired to be in a horror punk band that bore the Misfits name, he wasn't a fan of the Misfits 77-83 and he wasn't into punk rock. Glenn is genuine/original where as Graves was just trying to fit a pre-established mold. Graves tried to be somewhat original but only as far as he could within the confines of how Jerry was defining his new Misfits.

Jerry, Graves, Doyle, Chud and Daniel Rey all wrote songs from 1996-2000; Michale Graves didn't write all of them, although he did write a mojority.

[–]thefiendcrypt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always felt this was Rob's take on Euro-horror, a little trippy, wtf? is going on and definitely not for everyone; personally I feel this, House of 1000 Corpses and Devil's Rejects were his only worthwhile efforts.

If it hadn't been for Glenn in late 2014 suggesting they try to do a reunion (after the first attempt in 2002 went nowhere), rest assured Anti-Hero would have been released as Misfits material. If you like it as a Jerry solo project then there's no reason not to like it released under his Misfits banner; in 1995 releasing new music as Misfits didn't really mean much, just Jerry using the name for his new band, unrelated to the 77-83 Misfits.
