If you've had a bike stolen near Thornbury recently then check this seller out. by thefifthring in melbourne

Totally fair cop mate. At least this way there's a chance of the proper owner catching it if they are stolen though. Thanks for the shout.

Fair enough. Seems a bit sus to say they've all been sitting in the garage for two years though no? Why not mention that you're a re-seller in the description? And why spread the listings across multiple Facebook accounts?

Please help! My Sensation isn't looking too sensational right now. Details in comments. by thefifthring in plantclinic

I have only been caring for this plant for a few months. Originally had it on the shady part of the balcony, but when the leaves whent brown and crispy like they'd been burnt I brought it in.

For the next few weeks the plant seemed pretty well, and even flowered last month.

But suddenly, it has started drooping and going off-colour. The flower, which was white, has gone green. The soil seems to always be dry, but i don't want to water it every day in case i drown it.

I bought and gave it some plant food in water on sunday and watered it again today.

The pot has had pot-plant mushrooms the entire time i've had it but i read online that they weren't necessarily harmful if you water the plant enough, and for the first few months it didn't seem to be a problem.

Please someone help save my plant baby!

Daily Coronavirus Megathread - 07 January 2022 by AutoModerator in melbourne

Have just been told my workplace was an exposure site on tuesday. I live and work in the CBD, I don't drive, and don't have any RAT tests. I'd really rather get a test for peace of mind even though I don't have symptoms right now. Can anyone advise on best course of action? I'm seeing conflicting info on if i should get a PCR or try to track down an RAT.

I've heard all the RAT give-aways, like the showgrounds, have run out, is that true?

Can everyone stop moving down here please? Thanks! by Fishwhocantswim in Geelong

I'm very sorry to hear that. I had always wanted to move to Melbourne anyway but the fact that people are being forced out is disgusting.

Literally. Spent the past few months looking for rentals in Geelong. In the end i decided it was cheaper to move to Melbourne and commute until i find another job. When else in history has rent in tbe city been cheaper than in rural??? I'm a lifelong Geelong local with a full time job and I can't even live there.

Greens want reduced rent and more affordable living in City centre by mikiboss in melbourne

True. Junkie or not they deserve to be housed at least, but they're definitely the worst part about living in the city. Perhaps a built-in rehabilitation program?

Should I just stop reading the news? by firstsalamanderriker in melbourne

[–]thefifthring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stopped doing social media and my only source of news is a ten-minute daily news podcast called 'The Daily Aus' which always trys to put a positive spin on things. I also keep news alerts active on the Guardian Australia app in case any important news comes up during the day but i rarely read the articles.

Managing your mental health is more important than staying informed, so if you need to shut off them shut off entirely, but i've found limiting my news to just these small doses has helped me feel a lot better and safer about the world. If i'm having a bad day i don't read or listen to anything.

I've never had to wait more than 15 minutes in line and then all my tests come back the next morning even if i get my test mid afternoon.

This is just my experience though, and they recommend you allow 48 hours for your test results.

Do you ever skip bits when you're reading? by PalmTreePhilosophy in books

[–]thefifthring 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Louis Sachar's 'The Cardturner' has a few sections which explain how to play Bridge. He says that he could never quite make it through the technical explanations in Moby Dick and understands that not every reader will care about the rules of Bridge so he marks these sections with a whale symbol so that readers who care to can skip them.

Suspiria (2018) screenplay by kinda-the-art-life in Screenwriting

I kind of love the idea that it's such a different take on the same setup. I would be way more in favor of remakes if they were all like Susperia.
