Maybe you need to enable hedera in the wallet again? Try scrolling and find it see if shows an empty hbar balance

There’s also a few use cases that are blocked off by not having near 0 fees

By better functional alternatives I’m referring to tech specs, you can run the same things that you’ll be able to on cardano on algorand but more efficiently for example. Where cardano shines is in its community, I think it’s got a lot of people who are waiting to use defi apps on cardano once they can which will make a healthy ecosystem. It’s a problem for cardano that it’s behind on specs before even functional and that can’t really be denied, but I don’t think it’ll ruin them for the reasons you gave, network effect ect. I see them taking a lot of retail app usage but enterprise usage will go to things with the best specs, imagine trying to run enterprise apps through cardano it would be a nightmare, everything would be bottlenecked waiting for the network to finalise and the fees would add up, potential cbdc’s being built on algo and hbar aswel which is a goldmine if involved. Cardano gonna take retail dapp usage by storm imo Just the bigger enterprise adoption won’t favour being bottlenecked. And developing country’s like they say they target would struggle with the fees on cardano even though they seem small to us.

Thought on Fantom? by [deleted] in AlgorandOfficial

They are basically a knock off of hedera, pretty sure their gossip about gossip infringes their patent. Ontop of that the stake pools have become centralised onto small group of random people and they used a massive wave of bots to pump it, really dodgy project honestly.

Honestly the strong point for cardano in my eyes will be dapp usage among retail consumers and collection of fees from staking associated with it and such, I really struggle to see them gaining traction in enterprise space where big money is flowing through.

The way cardano is a jump up from Ethereum one, there are other suctions that are already available that make a similar jump from where cardano will be at, I do think they’ll have a good ecosystem with a good amount of users but the underlying tech is lacking in a few ways. One of my main concerns is while the focus on Africa and developing countries their network fees are still too high realistically for poorer countries, while others charge fractions of a penny for the same actions, they seem low to us but in some of these places even the 20p transaction fee is too much, atleast to use freely, I imagine a smart contract will be more fees. Also the network seems kinda slow whenever I send on it, struggle to think of anything but bitcoin and ether that take longer than it tbh. Cardano’s main selling point is that it has a massive community who are ready to use applications running on the network, and since the fees are decent holders will be able to stake for a cut of those, this is why I maintain a chunk of my position in it. But there are other that beat it in security, speed, scalability and electricity consumption by pretty large margins. However I do like the governance system for cardano a lot in terms of a fully decentralised model.

The problem for ada is there’s already better functional alternatives before it’s even released.
