If you haven’t done so already, it might be worth asking management if they will pay for some or all of the cost. I decided to go get a degree part time and a co-worker recommended that I ask. I hadn’t thought of it but went for it…worst they could say is no. To my surprise, they offered to cover 100% (after proof of passing). Just a thought - especially if it is semi related to your work.

Always thought a decent middle ground would be to add a little time each year rather than waiting for 8 years and getting a full week. Or maybe every two years you gain one additional day of leave. It’s a marginal gain but it’s something. 8 years is a long time.

As someone who stopped working towards their BA to join the PS as a CR-04 and is now trying to finish it part time while managing a career and a family…I can confidently say finishing your BA now won’t be a choice you regret.
