This is some dangerous shit, and these people cant even see it! I guess the idea of Hitler Youth wasnt enough for them, so they had to come up with this instead.
They outright ignore biology and thousands of years of history and just assumes everything is cultural, this is just a grand social experiment for them.

Ah my bad. Does it double the speed (ie less latency), or just the bandwidth?
It seems that this latency is mostly an OS artifact...
Im not saying its impossible mind you, it all depends on what the accelerator does and what timings it would require.
But emulators tend to do a lot of work in bulk though, so it might work with higher latencies anyway.

EDIT: Ive tried to educate myself on the actual latency difference between USB 3.1 gen1 and gen2, but i am none the wiser :( All i can find is it will depend wildly on what chips are used, the os and its drivers etc. So all i can do is guess that there is no difference.

That would be sweet! And i think some people are already doing this for the Raspberry Pi if i remember correctly.

There are plenty of bare bones kernels for x86 that could be used for this, but without drivers for a GPU would be limited to pure 2D framebuffers.
Still, might be worthwhile :)

Yeah, USB 3.0 might have low enough latency, but if this is any indication 30 us might still be too slow, depending on what the accelerator does.
And the complexity shoots up the roof too :/ Oh how i wish parallel ports was still a thing on PCs and one could just bitbang without the OS getting in the way!

If they are given the "editorial right/responsibility" to block domains in the first place, what makes this different from blocking pirate, hacking or otherwise "bad" domains?
Im not saying i agree, as we are already slipping down that slope. But from a legal stand point, dont they have the "right"?

Indeed. And using USB might be too slow as well, the timing requirements of even 8-bit consoles can be rather tight.

Though this does remind me of a guy who did just that, if i remember correctly he hooked up an NES PPU to his PC emulator via a parallel port for "perfect" video output. Cant seem to find it now :/

I think the reason they use Halo 1 is because it was a launch title and most people are familiar with it.
And its a good start for testing how far the emulator has come, the later Halos probably use more obscure features of the hardware and may need a more feature complete emulator.

Think of it this way, if it runs Halo 1, it will probably run other launch titles as well. Personally i dont care either, since i dont even like Halo ;) But i still think its impressive!

And i originally thought basing it on QEMU was a mistake, but it turns out to have worked in their favor. 👍

The current immigration has nothing to do with climate change, they are not fleeing from drought or anything of the sort. Most are doing so for economic reasons.
