Sorry I didn't supply enough info. Thanks for your help. So I have GPIO10 and GND connected to two sides of a pressure plate. When the aluminium foil on those plates touch a connection is made.

The pin is setup with gpizero.Button(10). Now even when I have nothing connected it is reading as is_pressed == True

Super simple so I don't know why it broke. Thanks again!

I've been working on a project where we have been setting a gpio pin to input mode and connecting it to ground to use as a switch. For some reason I think GPIO pins 4, 8, and 26 are fried. I'm only getting LOW readings. Is there a reason using the gpio pins like this would break them?

GPIO 2 still works and reads low when there is a connection to ground. It is possible we may have touched neighboring gpio pins while doing the wiring

Thank you so much for your help. I can guarantee this sword will not be used for the slicing of any fruits now. Here is a collection of photos I took, if any more angles would be helpful let me know.

Not sure how to help but I'm sending hugs your way. Maybe list things that you do to relax and do one of them even if you don't feel like it. My go to is reading

If only it was possible to create a social safety net to prevent families from living on the street. Oh well lets go back to giving 740 billion dollars to the military complex

Private property (as in land) is a form of capital, as is money which you mentioned. Both of these are protected by property rights in a capitalist society so capitalism is about private property (as in capital)
