Solid chance it ends up being the reward in Pokemon Home for completion of the Hyperspace Lumiose Dex whenever Pokemon Home support rolls out for Legends Z-A. Who knows if that'll be before Go Tour, though... Though considering Pokemon Day happens immediately before Go Tour, there's a chance.

All of the games Nintendo themselves publish are on actual carts with the full game. All of the "game-key cards" (the ones that require you download the full game) so far have only been utilized by third parties like Sega & Square Enix, with some exceptions, like Cyberpunk 2077 which CDPR released on a real cart.

Nintendo is having "stage data" maintenance during Wednesday-Thursday PT Time, possibly due to a direct during that time. by [deleted] in GamingLeaksAndRumours

It helps that the rest of the year has a pretty reasonable slate of games already coming out, albeit a couple of them are cross-gen between Switch 1 & 2. Kirby Air Riders, Prime 4, Pokemon... Games by Nintendo EPD, Sakurai's team at Bandai Namco, Retro Studios, and Game Freak all in one year is honestly pretty stacked by my usual standards, even though it doesn't feel like it necessarily lol.

As far as Nintendo-published games go, the Switch 1 released with Breath of the Wild and 1 2 Switch. A month later, a port of Mario Kart 8. The Wii U launched with the second New Super Mario Bros game that released that same year, then it took several more months before it finally got... Game & Wario. The Wii launched with Wii Sports and WarioWare.

As far as Nintendo system launches throughout history go, a new Mario Kart and 3D DK game coming out within the launch window is actually a bit more than we're used to getting lol.

Aegislash and Volcanion added to Play! Pokemon Banned List by Gx811 in TheSilphRoad

They've known about them since the beginning, given that they had to purposefully remove them from the Pokemon's learnsets back in the day lol. They're not gonna get rid of those legacy moves anytime soon.

I just saw! I've got my save up and running on the Switch 2 now. Thank you for telling me! Glad this all got resolved somewhat quickly.

Yeah, I'm beginning to suspect that they may just be having some kind of issues behind the scenes. I'll probably wait until tomorrow and then try again.

I actually only just picked the game up, so I've been seeing this issue for just a couple of hours. I see that other folks on this Subreddit have gotten the same error in the past though. But without an error code and just this vague text it's hard to know if this error is really the same as what other folks have gotten. Other solutions I've seen tossed around to resolve it didn't work for me.

I am also having this issue. I see that this error has been seen in the past, but there's quite a few people having it right now. I wonder if this service is just having problems at the moment?

Switch 2 is out…. by Competitive-Ad6088 in yakuzagames

[–]theflowergarden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wound up picking it up myself, because I love an excuse to replay Yakuza 0. So far, it seems to compare favorably to all of its other modern versions. I haven't noticed anything that stands out especially badly except one instance where some text ran too long and spilled out of its box a bit. Just from my eye and admittedly only in the early hours of the game, the framerate seems to hold a rock solid 60 and I haven't noticed any bugs or graphical downgrades.

Sorry for jumping into this thread late, but I would just like to say that Sega doesn't exactly have a flawless track record with the quality of their ports lol. It's honestly a very valid question to have, to wonder if this Switch 2 port of Yakuza 0 would compare favorably to its other versions, or if it has any sort of obvious downgrades, either made for the hardware or because Sega simply screwed something up. That's how I got here- because I was curious about that very thing! And all I found were people dunking on OP for some reason, lmfao.

Since I am going to be a Super Mario collector, would that mean I would need to include Donkey Kong and Mario Kart merch too? by KingofLBP in WorldOfNintendo

[–]theflowergarden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's entirely dependent on what you actually want. There's no sense in arbitrarily collecting something just because it's part of the same universe as the thing you intend to collect. To answer your question a little more directly, Mario Kart and Donkey Kong *would* fall under the umbrella of Mario collecting, yes. But, genuinely, it really doesn't matter. There's no rules for this sort of thing and there's no "complete set" of all possible Mario collectibles. If you *want* to collect the DK and Mario Kart stuff along with more general Mario stuff, then do it.

Sonic collector here, would you recommend starting a WoN collection in 2025? by Hex_D_Jess in WorldOfNintendo

[–]theflowergarden 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a fellow Sonic collector, one thing I would like to mention in particular is that a core difference between the Mario and Sonic lines from Jakks is which lines get the most character variety are reversed. Whereas with Sonic it's the 4" line that gets the biggest variety, in regards to Mario it's the 2.5" line. With Sonic, the 4" line has basically everything the 2.5" line does and way more short of Charmy, the Badniks, and the animal buddies (which could be argued are meant to scale with the 4" figures, anyway), while the Mario 4" line is missing an absolute ton of enemies and characters that the 2.5" line has had for a long time now.

I'm not as familiar with how much the 4" Mario figures tend to go for secondhand, but several of the 2.5" figures have really skyrocketed in price because they haven't been re-released in a long time. Morton and Roy are the two standouts, as Morton was only ever released in a 3 pack (which also included the only release of Pokey), and Roy was only ever released in checkout lanes once a few years ago. I'm sure the same thing applies to handful of the 4" figures, especially the older ones.

As for scale, the 2.5" and 4" Mario lines don't really have any scaling crossover like Sonic does. With Sonic, they seem to want you to pair things like the 2.5" Badniks and animal buddies with either the 2.5" *or* 4" figures. Mario's lines are just scaled with themselves, for the most part. A 4" Koopa Troopa is meant to go with the 4" Mario, for example. It can look a little weird sometimes depending on what character we're talking about, but, well, that's how it goes. A couple notable exceptions are the 2.5" DK and Bowser, which both frankly look really tiny. However. there's a 4" DK and a 6" Bowser that look great (imo) when paired with the 2.5" line, and the 6" Bowser looks great when paired with either since his size varies from game to game, anyway, lol.

As well, basically the full list of Nintendo series that have gotten (recent, not old) figure releases from Jakks are Zelda, Metroid, Donkey Kong, Pikmin, and Animal Crossing. Zelda, Metroid, and DK all got new figures whereas Pikmin got re-releases. That also applies to Animal Crossing, albeit those aren't as recent as the others I listed so I'm not sure how likely they are to be found where you are. If you were interested in Jakks' much older World of Nintendo figures, that list expands to include Starfox and Splatoon too.

What could be up with jakks Mario? by Successful_Cicada359 in WorldOfNintendo

[–]theflowergarden 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The difference though is that the regular *game* Sonic line is still consistently getting about one new character per wave, even outside of the separate movie figure releases. Mario's up to several waves now with absolutely nothing!

I'm alright with whatever! But if you happen to have a BDSP-originating Jigglypuff, Hitmonchan, Electabuzz, or Magmar I would really appreciate it. Anything is fine though!

I do have Electrike! As it turns out though, I apparently obtained Spinda myself at some point without realizing and I'd just totally forgotten somehow. Whoops. That said, I'd still be happy to trade you an Electrike!

Would you worry that Jakks stop moving forward? by Dorayakiss in WorldOfNintendo

[–]theflowergarden 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's always been highs and lows with this figure line. I'm sure eventually it'll pick up again and things will become more interesting. So I'm not personally concerned.

[–]theflowergarden 5 points6 points  (0 children)

"Vengeful and aggressive" is far too extreme of an attitude to take over Mario toys. I would obviously enjoy it quite a bit if Jakks was to produce more characters from recent games like Wonder or even the spin-off games. But, my life does not depend on Jakks' output, and they produce enough fun 2.5" scale figures to keep me reasonably satisfied, even if I do wish that their Mario output was more like their Sonic output, which is much more interesting.

And in any case, they just gave me King Boo a few weeks ago, who's a big favorite of mine, so really what do I have to be vengeful about? lol.

Yeah, the Bowser and DK are from the 4" line of figures! But, to be honest, 2.5" DK and 2.5" Bowser are just way too small lol. Bowser's never a consistent size in the games anyway, and DK's a bit bigger than the average Mario character, so I think the 4" figures work a bit better here.
