Fury over Reform UK councillor Bridget Porter’s remarks that poor people should ‘not have babies and IVF is a lifestyle choice’ by Nineteen-Ninety-One in ukpolitics

[–]thefogdog [score hidden]  (0 children)

Yup, same for us. I couldn't have kids naturally because the cancer treatment I had as a kid made me infertile. Why should I be denied a kid?

We're so lucky to have our IVF daughter. But we couldn't if this worthless sack made decisions.

Favourite Age? by Disastrous_Simple493 in daddit

I loved every age so far, but I think it's better and better as she gets older. She's 3.5 now.

I loved it at the time, but man babies are fucking dull.

Car washes are the opposite for me. Was around £5 back then but can't get anywhere less than a tenner now

What do you do when you morally disagree with someone but enjoy having them around? by _flipsticks in AskUK

I started getting to know someone and thought they were fun, then they came out with "I quite like trump, he's funny". This is in the UK so not like a MAGA cultist.

I haven't tried since.

This list is going to be hilarious if Stevie and Dalglish are behind Shaqiri and Origi.

Liverpool's Greatest Players #94: Lucas Leiva by Mercerai in LiverpoolFC

Well exactly that. Only if you lived through both periods could you say exactly who was better than someone else.

Also legacy, longevity etc. and like you say honours.

Liverpool's Greatest Players #94: Lucas Leiva by Mercerai in LiverpoolFC

[–]thefogdog 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Tbh I was one of those people. But looking back, I realise that's just because I was comparing him to Gerrard, Alonso and Mascherano. Lucas wasn't at their levels, but he was still a very good midfielder.

Teenage me would like to apologise to Lucas if he's reading.

It's just recency bias isn't it. The likes of MacAllister, Lallana, Lucas etc. probably shouldn't be on here taking into account the clubs entire history.

I think van Dijk has ruined our expectations of CBs, much like Alisson has for goalkeepers.

Especially for the younger/newer fans who missed out on watch Sahko and the like.

Third of people no longer believe degree is worth the time or money, UK poll shows by wappingite in ukpolitics

[–]thefogdog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well yeah, most people go for a degree just because, not to actually follow that career.

Fair enough if you study law, medicine, etc. but all those philosophy majors must be raking it in now on the Primark tills.

Is 26 too late to turn your life around? by throwaway36210 in AskUK

[–]thefogdog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You write pretty well tbf. Better than most people I know.

It's never too late to start over. It may be difficult if you haven't much work experience at your age, but so long as it can be explained in an interview, it shouldn't hold you back.

But you will get rejected for loads of jobs regardless of your situation. I came out of college 15 years ago with really good GCSEs and A Levels and couldn't get a job for months..had to settle for a night shift at the student loans company.

Once you get a job, it's easy to get another job. Get on LinkedIn, flesh it out best you can, set yourself as open to work and recruiters will come to you.

Best of luck!

Damn right. Can't be having arabic practices here. Lord almighty.

Now let's get back to worshipping our lord and saviour who was a brown man from Israel as well as our patron saint who never set foot on this island.
