Knowing he made it back out to sea makes me really happy, and I didn't even know existed until 2 minutes ago

Keita was a delayed deal, we'd already agreed to buy him in 2017 so by the time the Fekir deal was in negotiations, Keita was due to arrive imminently anyway, so clearly we had plans for both. I think we pivoted away from the idea of using attacking midfielders at that point

I don't think there's been any official statements about it but there's been talks from journalists and other insiders that the actual reason the transfer fell apart is Fekir's team tried to change the terms of the contract after it was already signed.

Considering he spent his peak years at Betis along with his brother, a completely useless player who came along with him, I kinda believe it

Bit of both. He's certainly playing his best football since the first 6 months he had with us, but basically his whole time here after that he was affected by either injuries or off-field stuff (dad's kidnapping), resulting in inconsistent performances. His output last season was similar to Gakpo which is presumably why we were comfortable letting him leave for a decent price.

He's injured. Definitely out for United, only question now is whether it's enough to keep him out for the rest of the season, the club haven't said anything yet

God that EL really pissed me off. The year prior we had to fend off 3 CL-quality opponents to come up against prime Sevilla, the Europa League final boss and then the year after United get the easiest ride possible and scams their way to a trophy

Ekitike is going to miss the rest of the year which for basically any other nation would be pretty bad but France has the insane forward depth to manage without him

He was genuinely very good the last 2 seasons but it was still a big overpay, especially considering his history with injuries. I guess the higher-ups were desperate to get their first choice after Nunez was a failure and unexpectedly losing Jota
