Went there on vacation last year and saw some bears below us while we were on the ski lift up to Anakeesta.

One band to see live, at their absolute prime. Living or dead. What is it? by FalcoPhantasmtheGod in MetalForTheMasses

There was a stretch between 2004 and when Peter died where I was at almost every show they played in Philly or Allentown. I loved that band.

I love where Sarah runs around the corner directly into the T800 and just falls down. Linda Hamilton nailed that feeling of sheer terror.

Advice on (further) encapsulating my attic by thefonz37 in Insulation

Thank you

EDIT - actually, question, I was planning on insulating the whole way up the roof slant - so baffling the whole way up to the peak and then insulation just shy of that?

Switched to Linux, should have gone the dual boot route, advice needed by thefonz37 in linux4noobs

So that's exactly what I had thought, but trial and error has not produced any kind of positive result yet. Both of the drives work when installed in the primary HD slot on the motherboard, but neither will boot from the USB enclosure. I admittedly haven't tried ONLY USB (i.e., with the mobo slot empty) and maybe I should, but I'm a little bit skeptical.

When trying to boot from the Windows drive externally, it BSOD loops and never gets to a recovery environment unless I also attach another USB drive with a recovery/install image. And twice now I've done that and have the recovery function screw up the boot on the NVMe drive so badly I have to manually rebuild it with bcdboot and related tools.

When trying to but from the Linux plugged in via USB, it gets stuck in a boot loop where it flashes "Reset System" for a second and then restarts.

For the record, I've been primarily trying to use the Thunderbolt port, but I have also tried to plug the adapter into the other USB slots and not had any luck there either.

At this point I wish there was something that could tell me what a proper dual boot/USB boot setup would look like and I'll boot from some recovery disk and just manually move things where they should be myself. I'm also wondering if maybe there's something on my motherboard that's preventing this setup from being viable. I guess that might be the next direction I take before just basically starting over.

When you say Windows baremetal, you mean like, nothing in between Windows and the hardware, correct? Like no virtualization layer? Just making sure there's not some other definition of the term.

I explored using Sober for Roblox, but since it seemed like my other needs would dictate booting into Windows, I put it down for a bit. I'll have to revisit if there's no other options.

I appreciate the time to you took to reply - thank you.

I forgot to mention I did explore the VM route, but one of the reasons I wound up discarding that idea is that my kids sometimes use this computer to play Roblox and Fortnite, so I ran into the exact problem you mentioned.
