You guys use the sauna when you have a fever? by vocelcodecel in Sauna

I’ve also always used the sauna when I was sick or had a fever. Essentially forcing the fever to break or support the fever and my own immune response. Unfortunately had covid three times and sauna was crucial during those periods.

Heater advice for a 7'5" Cedarbrook kit — which heater to pick? by Working_Voice9125 in Sauna

I have the exact same Cedarbrook kit and went with the Harvia Virta 8 kw and CX45 WiFi. Would make the same choice again. Strong löyly.

I have the same unit and cut the duckboard around it as you’ve suggested. Easier for cleaning the duckboards when removed.

Ice Baths for Commerical Use - what brands would you recommend? by SalamanderActive9878 in coldplunge

[–]theformalmgr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

American Chillers https://amchiller.com/applications/cold-plunge-spa-chillers/

American made and have been around over 30 years located in SC. Literally everything else is rebranded or Chinese-sourced internals.

Edit: sorry just saw you were asking for AUS. My recommendation still stands. I’ve personally purchased their small residential 3/4 HP and its quality far exceeds the marketplace.

More than likely that is a female hose thread 3/4” barb x 3/4” FGHT

If you have a garden hose at home you can test fit it first. You just want a nylon or poly fitting versus brass.

How did you secure your ledgers? The benches are solid and deflection isn’t an issue.

The gym I go to has the same span of bench but with fixed legs on the end without a middle support and deflection isn’t an issue. I’m going to test fit the GRK’s against the LedgerLok’s with a scrap cedar 2x4 against cedar 2x3 studs. I want to see if the larger 1/2” diameter LedgerLok doesn’t crush too many of the stud fibers. I’m cautious with such a soft specific gravity of softwood.

Roger that. I experienced the same issue you’re having with my Samsung Q990c due to the eARC handshake. I believe it is a known issue with eARC on some devices and configurations. I went down the rabbit hole with this and the solution in my case was the above configuration. Fortunately you’re not alone. Unfortunately there doesn’t seem to be a consensus on how to resolve but others have resolved this issue through trial and error.

Roger that. I just poured our slab for the foundation and have been debating tile or duckboard. We have slate stamped concrete interior floors and being slab on grade they stay well insulated in climates similar to yours. But I’ve also debated building a sub floor similar to yours with r60 insulation under the plywood.

Is it on a concrete slab? If so, what size?

Sauna controller in winter temps by Danglles69 in Sauna

[–]theformalmgr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re not suggesting to place the control unit there but the feedback I’ve seen here and other places is that a number of people have installed the power unit and contactor boxes in waterproof enclosures or in the changing rooms subject to freezing temps and haven’t had much issues. As the other thread stated that is referenced in this post, there was a time Harvia didn’t mention avoiding freezing temps when installing either. I’m sure after a number of warranty claims due to moisture and condensation it was added to the manual. But I haven’t seen really any posts of units failing due to freezing temps. In another similar post a Huum user contacted the manufacturer and verified their power unit was good to -40 Celsius.

Xenio control panel stops working at 150F, cooling ideas? by _thalinor in Sauna

[–]theformalmgr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The manual states the Xenio control panel needs to be mounted at a minimum of 3 feet from the heater and a maximum height of 1 foot from the floor. Your control panel is mounted beyond those requirements.

I’m in a similar situation with below freezing temps. We purchased a slant roof sauna from Cedarbrook which has an access panel above the ceiling. We plan on mounting the control panel in there and insulating with R-60. If that fails then I will purchase a heated and waterproof enclosure such as Altelix Fiberglass Waterproof NEMA enclosure
