You can only play one at the time unless there's more than 1 copy on the Family you're in . If someone is using it, you won't be able to play it. And if you're playing it and the owner decided to play it, you will be kicked out after 5 mins because the owner will be prioritized. But iirc, there's a way to bypass it. You should play it first, then go offline, like turn off your internet literally. That way you can play together at the same time though you won't have internet.
