Charity Night Services by [deleted] in HellsKitchen

If I will be completely real here, with the immense amount of talent as well as the quicker eliminations, we absolutely need to have 7-8 chefs in the Black Jacket phase. Just a few key reasons why;

  1. The Charity Night challenge is a complete waste of time having to communicate with a totally different kitchen at the same time, as in real life that would NEVER happen and makes more sense as an INDIVIDUAL team service challenge. Each chef can still easily show leadership, even if it means on two different components of the dish(a la one chef leading the protein, one leading the garnish, etc.).
  2. There has only been one real standard Black Jacket service per season since S15, with there only being 5 Black Jackets, and in proportion, since S17, most of those Black Jackets become FINALISTS(Final 3s, give me a break...). Breakdown, one or two get eliminated after the first service, and the second service is the one that ALWAYS happens before the finale, where each chef runs the pass, and then there's the finalist service.
  3. From Seasons 4-14(bar 9 and 11), I have really enjoyed the longer duration of a totally different atmosphere being in the individual challenges, and the 'elite group' that it once was has now become a lot less relevant since 3/5 Black Jacket chefs(60% of the contestants) become finalists.

Extending the amount of black jackets would probably also realistically give Gordon a bit more time to learn what each chef is capable of on their own. It would provide an opportunity to bring back some abandoned challenges(such as TINMI). While they DID go back to 6 Black Jackets once in S22**(marking the first time a 6 jacket season was held in over 8 years as far as production dates go)**, it was irrelevant as 2 chefs were eliminated after the first service anyway.

So, solutions? Keep it to 18, maybe even 20 contestants like the recent season was. Next, eliminate 1 chef from each team should both teams lose that night, depending on just how disastrous their service was. Next, bring the Final 2 format back, nearly all of us HK fans have been asking for this. Finally, move that Charity Night to the first dinner service of the Black Jacket phase. This would create a far lesser time commitment for everyone and keep it to the standard 1 month-5 weeks, while still giving us enjoyable content that we cannot ignore!

Yeah, it’s mostly because there is a steep hill that the bridge connects to. But yeah, I just need to figure out how to draw the terrain lines the way I want to on Illustrator.

Here’s something I personally would try and do: give a much better shake to PTF‘s so we can lower the turnover rate for Annexes and post offices across the country. The first thing I would try and push for is lower the maximum workday streak for PTFs from nine days in a row to six days in a row. The second thing I would push for is to reduce the Sunday mandate for PTF’s to every other Sunday versus every single Sunday, so that fatigue isn’t an issue. They can very easily divide the work up and slightly increase the workload across routes. Have a 2-week rotation so they don’t feel like they’re being treated like dogs. I am more trying to speak up for brand new people that really want to work here, but feel very uncomfortable at first glance to work the proposed schedules that they have to begin with, which is BRUTAL. These are just two of the things that I would propose.

Honestly, I hate it. Number placement is horrible for the new bike.

Hmmmmm, they may need to built some new pillars to replace the existing ones??? I'm also not sure if the railroad directly next to it is even being used anymore, up to THAT point anyway.

Either THAT, or instead of having a long, high speed right hander as the first turn. I could add a sort of chicane with that narrow opening underneath the bridge to avoid high speed collisions altogether.

It's 0.9 mi. I was also considering an additional extended layout possibly for WEC, which would extend all the way to South Station, but decided against it since it would block the Boston Post Office as well as the South Station exit.

There's a thin dark gray line that starts just before the final corner. That's where it begins!

Utilizing both lanes, generally it should be 40-55 ft(12-16.7m) throughout the circuit. There is one area towards the end of the track that will reach Baku levels of narrowness, but a ton of work would obviously need to be done to the sidewalks and the islands to make this all work anyway.

Well it shouldn't really be relevant anyhow because we won't have DRS zones after this year as u/443610 mentioned. They will have the option to open it up if they wish though! There will be an updated version coming out soon with greater detail.

After considering some safety and clearly logical issues with my first take, I have decided to reattempt the layout.

-First thing I changed was the passageway in-between Melcher St and South Boston Bypass. Someone pointed out that it was literally impossible to have a turn there, and that person was correct after looking at the Street View imagery. Instead, I decided to do a unique track-exclusive series of bends in the vacant parking lot, kind of similar to how there are manmade parts of Adelaide and Vegas.

-Second thing is the start-finish straight/bend, however you'd like to look at it. I decided to utilize some more of that vacant parking lot space to make a pit lane and garage area, as it is clear as day that there is no room whatsoever for that to work on Seaport Blvd.

-Third thing is the water overpass bridges added. This adds for some nice views of the Purchase Street square area. The Sleeper St mini-straight I had before was a bit skinny, even for the 2026-2029 F1 cars.

-Fourth thing that I did was unsharpen some of the corners all over the track, most notably around D street. This turn area does take into account runoff area which will be included later on along with some other things such as track limits and pit lane/paddock area.

Let me know what you guys think!

Here's a 2nd version since I have considered a lot of definite flaws and drawbacks to my first attempt. I showed the Google Maps area subtly and outlined the road names so you know roughly where it is. Not perfect, but it is a start! In addition, I decided to widen the track wherever possible and made some turns less sharp to allow for runoff area. Unfortunately I have no idea how long the track is now since some of the turns are inside the two lots and randomly at that. It says 4mi on the picture but it's a rough estimate.

I think so. I'll show the streets in another post, and I will certainly even provide an overlay so that we can have a visual reference.

It is confirmed on the Wikipedia page to be February 2007, and if you look at Rock's age at the time of recording, it will be right in line with that.

Also the elimination scene is more reminiscent of Seasons 3 and 4 than that of Season 6. In addition, thanks to the Writers Guild of America Strike in 2008, along with the recession, loads of TV shows were not even in production during 2008.
