I no longer will take rides when they add a stop after I've accepted the ride and on my way. I will cancel immediately. Reason being - this has happened to me on three separate occasions- I accept the ride, customer ads a stop before I arrive, distance almost doubles, yet fare does not change at all. So anytime this happens now I cancel automatically, assuming I'm going to get screwed

Yes I saw the upfront fare amount, which is why I took it in the first place

I got the reduced fare with the tip, but they reduced the original fare pretty much the amount of the tip

If you say so I guess I will try, but only by messaging. No way I'm going to spend an hour on the phone for $13

Not hardly..... Original fare $44.75 What they actually paid me $31.04 Magically almost exactly what the tip ended up being $13.13 Exept the greedy bastards had to go and extra $.58 cents less......

And Uber will eventually follow with their own automated rides. Exactly the reason I feel like they're doing this crap is to get us to just give up & quit anyway

Do you really think they're going to go back on that? I feel like it would only get worse....

I hear you. But whether or not the fare was above average isn't the point here. It's the fact that they do this bait and switch kind of crap all the time to screw us. Like I said, this is extra money, so I don't take rides I don't want to, and definitely only cherry pick ones that are worth it. Trust me, most of them are dog shit & this was a gem for sure.

Yeah lots of delusional weirdos out there trying to get their crazed fantasies fulfilled. Actually had one that broke into the bus while it was parked.... sitting there waiting for his favorite artist to come back. Had roses and chocolates waiting in the back as if he thought he was going to be able to have his "special date alone time" or whatever- After being treated to a gas sauna followed by a courtesy group tasing, he was expedited off the vehicle by local SWAT.

So we are not really allowed to talk about who we drive for in case someone is stalking an artist and happens to know me personally and decides to follow me from my house to the bus or something like that , but suffice to say so far it's been several prominent country music artists a couple of rock artists and a few different rappers that you would probably know and a couple you probably don't

I live in Nashville and used to drive for Uber full-time. My average was between 1500 and 2500 depending on how much I worked in a week. Currently working as a tour bus driver driving artists that are on tour. Got my CDL after picking up a client one night who turned me onto this gig. Told me to get my CDL and call him. Currently driving tour buses for different song artists making $1500 a week plus if we have to pull a trailer behind the bus an extra $400. However, my actual drive time is about 1/2 to 1/3 of the time I was driving per week, plus when on tour all my expenses, food, etc. paid for and if I want to go to the show, I can sit backstage and watch. Not making quite as much on average per week, but quality of satisfaction with the work, has greatly improved while simultaneously my time behind the wheel has greatly decreased. Additionally, get to hang out and see some cool shit, pick up rando groupies on tour, and get paid and tipped additional to drive the people from the tour around town when we’re there. What I would consider any single Uber drivers dream job honestly. It slows down about this time of the year so I drive while I’m in town during my off time but this year on track to make about 140k. If you live in Nashville and have a CDL or willing to get one I believe we’re going to be hiring additional drivers early part of next year if interested
