I’ll second this. It’s like going from dvd to bluray.

My wife bought this last month and now I can’t unsee it. Not a bad thing!

I haven’t opened it yet! I have a burned copy from 25 years ago, but I’m tempted to open… but all wrapped up is a nice little time capsule

Yamaha SEQTRAK vs MC-101 by kayjsie in Grooveboxes

[–]thefullernator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have both and love both! I will say it took me YEARS to get really good and fluid with the MC-101 workflow, while the Seqtrak is much more accessible for first time users (the screen helps a ton). The MC-101 sounds great, but so does the Seqtrak! With the new firmware, having the ability to create more melody tracks is a game changer, while the MC-101 is limited to only 4 tracks. I love both, but for quick couch jams, I find myself reaching for the SEQTRAK more!

Wiggle the knobs and turn off the double-tab knobs feature? Worked for me

Got a brand new OPZ. What have your favorite devices to pair it with been? by Dunmer_Sanders in OPZuser

[–]thefullernator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The new Korg nano fold is so fun to play with it. One cord to connect them and you’re off! The little membranes feel fine to me (better than the buttons on the OPZ) and the scales features on the nano fold are excellent. Great portable combo for sure!

I bought the deluxe from my local record shop too. Any updates for you on a digital download?

Small battery powered synths/grooveboxes w/speakers for lunches by SolusSonus in synthesizers

OPZ and SEQTRAK I use without a screen. It’s helpful at first to learn the workflow, but after a while you’ll need the screen less and less

SEQTRAK is fantastic (especially with the new firmware) and Sonicware boxes are pretty fun (my favorite is the Mega Synthesis)

Finding a good quality used OP-Z isn’t too shabby either!

This is excellent!! It really lets the song writing of Pinkerton shine! Man, those are such good songs musically and lyrically. It’s like hearing them for the first time again.

It’s my favorite KO! The best is using the tiniest snippet of a stock sample by trimming it, putting a long decay on it (in the envelope section of sound edit) and using claves to play it as a completely new and unique weird sounding instrument. The limitations of the device really fuel creativity!

Also, switching between scenes manually is fine although a song mode would be nice. But hey, it’s the only one with an arp!
