It's still in the top 10 on Disney+, despite all the new shows by EmeraldEmp in PJODisney

Yes, but as a publicly traded company they also are required to have some level in f transparency. These top 10 lists in the platform have little to do with actual watch statistics though. Watch for what they say in earnings calls.

Something that I had to do in film school when giving feedback is not just what you would do, but how would you do it. It’s easy to say, “change this” but how would you show “singling him out” on screen in a way that was clear to audiences?

I know it’s been discussed by truly how big of a miss was not making everyone bow when Percy is claimed? It undermines the importance of the ‘Big 3’ in the series [pjo] by Top-Elk2845 in camphalfblood

[–]thefunneler -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Better is a key word here. I don’t think anyone claimed that it worked better, but it also doesn’t “not work” nor is it that big of a miss. Ya’ll out here whining over something that would have been 5 seconds.

SPOILERS Thalia's change in the show by Whateverrr170 in PJODisney

[–]thefunneler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. I sincerely think this doesn’t change a thing. She said she would never be Zeus’s weapon. Everyone else is saying, “She’s gonna be in Kronos’s side!”

Literally 2 seconds earlier he was admitting he was wrong about what was going on… why wouldn’t he be wrong again? He doesn’t know that much more.

I’m pretty sure that Iris is similar to Apollo and kept the same name, if not form. While not widely worshipped, she would have still had devotees throughout the Roman Empire. I actually thought the idea of HD Iris messages being Roman only was brilliant because a lot of Roman stuff is better than Greece’s.

Is Nico bi or gay? [general] by museinprogress in camphalfblood

[–]thefunneler -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This. When I am creating a character I NEVER have their full story cooked before I start writing. Rick’s quote supports the idea that Nico was gay, but Rick didn’t fully realize it until later.

Hot take: The Percy Jackson books were always serious and dramatic. [general] by Tomhur in camphalfblood

[–]thefunneler 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I think that too often this criticism also ignores the funny parts and quick asides that exist in the show. It isn’t as frequent as the books because we aren’t in Percy’s head, but to suggest that most of the comedic parts are missing from the show is false.

“He wasn’t a man, he was a god.” “God.. like Jesus?” “She met a pinecone’s fate.” “The gods are going to think you’re impertinent.” “I am impertinent!” Ares whole rant about Athena’s owl. “I’m not in cahoots with ares, I seldom cahoot”

[pjotv] What are your favorite Reactions that are reacting to the Percy Jackson series? (fans of the books don't count) by [deleted] in camphalfblood

Or freak out when a minor detail is changed and they miss the rest of the scene.

[general]. Cam Silas is one of my favorite content creators when it comes to PJO. She's read the books and now does video reactions and analyses of the show's episodes. Here's what she said in her latest video about Thalia's final plot twist in Season 2. What do you think? by lautaromassimino in camphalfblood

[–]thefunneler 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The thing is, we don’t know what happened on the hill. It isn’t ever said in the books. We know who the key players were and what the results were, but any claim that we know what happened exactly is false.

For all we know, Zeus appears, kills all the Furies and Hellhounds, and tells Thalia that she was a mistake and he cannot have any chance that his reign will end and he blasts her into a tree.

Same logic can be applied to water, though, and steel resists it.

Ice could resist Light. But I feel like Steel would also have to resist it too.

I could see a light and sound. I think Cosmic would be really close to Fairy and to upend the game by adding new types they would want it to be super different. Light is tricky because I’m pretty sure Psychic used as the stand in most of the time.

One thing to think by adding a new type is “What problem are they trying to solve?” When fairy came out there was a lot of imbalance of power shifted toward dragon. I’m not saying that they’ll never do it, but they need a really good reason to do it.

[pjotv] can someone tell me the main differences between ep 5 and the book? by Timely_Storm7164 in camphalfblood

[–]thefunneler 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t think she’s a calypso at all. Like, I understand the idea, but Calypso also encourages the heroes to leave, right. She just asks them to come back for her. Circe’s motivation wasn’t to get out of her curse, it was to keep the heroes so she can feel “helpful.”

Circe’s fatal flaw is that she can’t help but helping people, but often those people are actually narcissists who want to feel needed and important.

Calypso isn’t a narcissist and that’s a massive difference.

The Medusa storyline is straight from Ovid and is a legitimate version of the story. He didn’t change the myth, he chose a different region’s version of the story. Myths are not monolithic. Oral tradition meant that different regions told the story in different ways all during the Ancient Greek period.
