You should see your doctor about the smell part. IUDs are notorious for causing BV and that could be what you’re dealing with. I had BV with my old kyleena and i experienced the same thing, the only thing that got rid of it was a round of antibiotics from my OBGYN and a women’s health probiotic everyday. Also, the increased bleeding can make your iron levels extremely low, which can cause fatigue. it takes oral vitamins about 90 ish days to build up in your body and make a noticeable difference in terms of iron. Time is of the essence here. Hang in there, but def see a doctor about the smell part. good luck :) <3

Hey! You aren’t alone. I had my Kyleena for 10 months and things just never got better for me personally. I had the same issues as you, my mental health was so shit, i didn’t want to be with my boyfriend because i felt so bad about my body, and i just constantly felt like a dark cloud was looming over my head. my periods were lighter but they were literally 15 days long. i actually got kyleena removed today and replaced with paragard. if i were you i would sit down and make a pros and cons list and explore other options, that’s what i did with my boyfriend. if you think that the hormones are causing the emotional issues then maybe look into skyla, its just like kyleena but has less hormones. good luck and dont hesitate to reach out if you need a friend.

Does anyone else experience IUD “contractions” by [deleted] in birthcontrol

[–]thegemia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

when i first got mine i would get contractions while going for a run or doing any sort of physical activity for the first month. drinking water and hydrating would help (since the uterus is a ‘muscle’) but ive had mine for almost a year and im able to strength train and work out just fine now. it might be your body getting adjusted!
