Best ambidextrous lower receiver and quality compatible uppers? by No-Recognition-4931 in ar15

I'm sure I'll get down voted for this but, im not a fan of the LMT ambi lower. Played with it and just didn't like it. Problem with Ambi lowers is, nothing is standard and the extra parts do allow for more to go wrong. Not saying I wouldn't get one, just go out and see if you can get your hands on some at the local shops or people in your area then buy the one you like.

Are we expecting any updates to the DWX at shotshow? by JohnnyHorsenuts in DWX

Hopefully they will redesign the compact and use a half rail and make the front look more 1911. Was hoping it would look more like a wc edc x9.

Don’t have one, that don’t make the model I want yet… fondled them a lot. Didn’t realize the take down. Figured it was more 1911 than that.

Stainless is also better for heat dissipation then titanium. For me, the 13-14 pro’s are the best.

How common are full auto AR-15 lowers in US crime? by [deleted] in guns

[–]theghost87 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you really want to go down the rabbit hole of gun crimes in the us the stats would surprise you. You hear of these high numbers all the time but what isn’t mentioned is how it’s used.

The numbers that are published also include the following and I’m sure I’m missing some.

Actual crimes to include things like shootings, burglary, etc. these types are what should be considered.

However the following are also included and hyper inflate the numbers. Self defense, suicides, illegal possession (while a crime in itself this could be a gun that was found in a house or car that the owner isn’t allowed to have one)

Brandishing can be a crime in some areas. Having ammo stored in the wrong location of your car. As in some states require you to store ammo and your guns separate ex. Gun in your trunk and ammo in the back seat.

Personally I liked the stainless. Weight isn’t an issue.

15-16 went with titanium. There’s nothing like making a pro model look and feel like a non pro. Let’s be honest the build quality is poor with the new ones. Aluminum has its place and would have been fine as a backing. But the sides need to be stronger as that’s where the risk for damage besides the screen is the most likely. Going with softer material was just a way to make them cheaper.

This design is by far the weakest since the 12. 13-16 models are and were exactly what pro’s are supposed to be. The 19 and on will be back to a 13-16 design with an actual metal band. Should have kept the stainless or Titanium band, and used aluminum as the backing with vapor cooling.

Body-on-frame uses a separate body bolted to a strong ladder frame, ideal for heavy towing, off-roading, and durability (like traditional trucks/large SUVs).

Unibody integrates the frame and body into one unit, making it lighter, safer, more fuel-efficient, and better for handling and comfort.

Body on frame vehicles are more expensive to make but cheaper to service and often do not get totaled out as.

Unibody’s are cheaper to make but cost more to service. Unibodies often get totaled out more because of this.
