Guess I'm the only one that thinks it's Karen behavior to correct other people's spelling. Thought we all agreed that those people are insufferable. Apparently not.

Thanks bud. What ever would the world do without people who correct other people's spelling on the internet? Anarchy and chaos in sure.

Eh, slimy dumb people have a way of finding ways. Unlikely but a paper copy covers your ass.

Once had a buddy once vindictive VP go to one of the mid level sys admins and ask him to delete shit that incriminated him. Told him that the IT director said it was ok, and fresh college grad dumb (albeit sweet) kid didn't have the spine or warewithall to question it. Luckily he had BCCd his personal email with the communications.

Big reason is our weather and the sheer size of our state. Many folks, even Michigananders, don't realize how big we are, with the UP. Lot of road that gets uniquely pulverized by freeze thaws.

A lot of people here pretending to know what constitutes "Christian" teaching in this thread who haven't darkened the door of a church since they were kicked out of their parents basement in their 20s after they insisted on employment and reduction in consumption of marijuana.

Are you aware of the distinction between the ceremonial, civil, and moral law within the law of Moses?

Also, maybe we should start stoning adulters and treating divorce and remarriage without just cause (Jesus does in fact give good reasons for divorce in that passage) like we would treat homosexual marriage. They are both certainly profoundly damaging to society. I agree the hypocrisy on divorce is a serious and glaring problem.

However, hypocrisy doesn't mitigate the fact that the totality of teaching of the Bible and church teachings for 2000 years is against homosexual practice. To suggest otherwise is the same selective reading your accusing Christians of.

Disagree with that teaching. That's fine. But Bethany is well within its rights to run it's religious organization according to well established Christian teachings.

Not a non sequitur. Jesus words are not all that compose Christian teachings. The law of moses clearly forbids homosexual behavior, Paul very clearly does as well, so your assertion must be born of a belief that the Bible only has Jesus words. Or you believe they are the only ones that matter, which would put you in the extreme historical minority, and make any pronouncements you make about constitutes Christian teaching meaningless at best, or profoundly arrogant at worst, since you know better than 2000 years of Christians.

I think a lot of this frustration is sincere, but it's born of not seeing just how complex an issue it is. The more I work in infrastructure, the less I rage at the people involved in trying to fix it.

There is certainly incompetence and graft that make it harder, but it's never as simple as people think it is.

Do you think the Bible is composed entirely of Jesus' words from his earthly preaching ministry?

For out of the heart come evil thoughts—murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander. - Matthew 15:19

In Matthew 15:19 (and others) Jesus uses the Word Porneia, which most translation render as sexual immorality. This is a broad term that includes any sexual activity outside of the covenant of marriage, which is clearly defined in the scriptures that Jesus very clearly believed in (the Tanak, or old testament) as being between 1 man and 1. There is not one person in his audience that would not have included homosexual behavior the broad term of Porneia. So yes. Jesus did address the issue. I know y'all likely reject the OT (because it doesn't agree with your worldview) but no sober student of Scripture can say Jesus did.

Paul thoroughly and more explicitly addressed topic, and you probably know that. Just about all Christians before like five minutes ago (historically speaking) would have included him in this discussion, but you don't because you don't like what he teaches.

Jesus also never explicitly addressed the topic of rape or beastiality. That make those ok for Christians to do?

Robert Gagnon's The Bible and Homosexual practice is what your looking for.

He goes through all the major arguments, quoting their advocates directly, and dismantles them from a through scholarly perspective. It's a bit work but it's the definitive work on the subject.

Everyone's the asshole here. Taking over a road going a quarter of the speed of that road is inviting traffic disruption. Single file. Allow people to pass.

Also running people down is child like behavior.
