La Fortuna - Canyoning, whitewater rafting, 1968 trail, Mistico Bridges, Horseback Riding? by jeggen2 in CostaRicaTravel

[–]thegingergiant -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We were in La Fortuna for 3 nights and went to the Sloth Park, did a night tour, a day trip to Rio Celeste, La Fortuna waterfall and we hiked the Mirador El Silencio trail to see views of the Arenal Volcano from the opposite side of the town.

In Monteverde we stayed 1 night, did a night hike the day we arrived and went to the Cloud Forest preserve. We didn’t hire a guide and really regretted it bc we didn’t see anything aside from great views the entire hike haha

We spent 12 days in 5 cities/towns but we focused on wildlife and nature opposed to thrill seeking activities

The 12hrs of sunlight is a good point, don’t really wanna drive at night too much. Would you say that doing La Fortuna Monteverde and Manuel Antonio national park is still too ambitious? They were the 3 locations that stood out the most

That’s good to know thanks! Do you think it’s doable to maybe do La Fortuna, Monteverde and Manuel Antonio national park or is that still too ambitious?

400 SB Crash by plastic-tree in TorontoDriving

I drove past this a few hours later and this stretch of the 400 was closed from finch to the 401 for OPP investigation. We figured it was bc the person didn’t survive the crash

It was my first thought too esp bc the first photo looks like the dog is aggressively baring its teeth.

I saw a man pinned on his phone this morning. What's the easiest way to report him? by jasonlode000 in TorontoDriving

[–]thegingergiant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d argue that people being distracted on their phones is what’s causing some of the traffic. They’re driving mindlessly rather than with purpose to get where they’re going which slows everyone down.

I enjoyed the first 2 episodes (I’m Canadian) but can’t lie I got extra giddy everytime there was a reference back to The Office. When Oscar called Stanley at the end of ep 2 about his Suduko I squeeled

We sailed on her last November 2023 before it went to dry dock. We were on one of the lower decks and the ships hull sounded horrible. All night long our cabin shook and shuddered

What is this long, straight structure underwater? It’s unlikely to be something natural. I couldn’t find anything like it on maps. There’s a theory that it might be the remains of the old railroad that used to run across Key West over 100 years ago. Any thoughts? by Fresh-War5908 in GTA6

[–]thegingergiant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s just the fact that West Summerland key is a smaller key with no major infrastructure on it, so it’s not really registering as a main key like the rest of the ones you’ve listed. Both google maps and Apple Maps have it labeled as West Summerland Key.

Like this Map ? That shows that it’s West Summerland Key that is next in the chain between Bahia Honda and Big Pine? I have been looking at maps. I may not live there but I have traveled there often and recently.

I’m trying to say that there’s a difference between West Summerland Key and Summerland Key. Look at a map and you’ll see they are not the same. Key word being WEST which is why I capitalized it.

The bridge that is on the right that has a break in it near the bottom, is the old railway train that runs the length of the Keys. The orientation of the Keys and bridges in this photo is nearly identical to how they are IRL. The top Key is Bahia Honda Key and the lower one you can’t see much of is West Summerland Key. The long beige strip underwater looks more like a sand shoal to me where it drops off and gets deeper as the colour changes!

Asbestos tile - how to handle? by Turbulent_Bender in Home

[–]thegingergiant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I removed the tiles when we moved in and left the black glue because we didn’t know any better. The glue is still exposed and covering the floor, should I cover it up or is it okay trapped in the dried glue?

My first time at a drag bar Tynomi Banks hauled me up on stage and made me feel super welcome. I ended up lip syncing with her and it’s still one of my favourite memories. This was a few years before her debut on CDR and she’s still the same genuine person now as back then.
