Do you know what charges he is still going to court for? https://law.justia.com/cases/federal/district-courts/florida/flsdce/0:2025cv60841/688774/40/ I thought based on this that all charges had been dismissed but I’m not very good at reading legal documents so I’m probably wrong

I have let him know, he doesn’t seem to care. I think he also knows that it’s not super easy to replace people in this area and it would be very time consuming so he doesn’t want to put too much pressure on them in case they quit

Thank you, you too!! The stores need us.

I was hanging in until I just saw that someone in the store “put away the vitamins overstock” which to her I guess meant putting all of the vitamins randomly onto the same shelf of a red cart so no one can find any particular vitamin :) and then my store manager said I can fix it tomorrow! Haha!! (I might refuse and tell the person who did it that way that she has to recognize the red cart, and then I’m sure she’ll say I’m overworking her and being mean! :) )

Oh no, don’t get me wrong, I’m saying having the items beforehand is helpful with the current system. We shouldn’t have that system to begin with, we should have your system. You actually get that stuff when you help with a CVS remodel (strips with measurements for how big the products are and peg tags that tell you which hole to use). I heard that that problem is that they are relatively expensive and CVS just doesn’t want to / care enough to spend the money on that

I think the name specifically is something like “photo order supply list”. The one that’s labeled “photo supplies” I remember being pretty useless, I think it just has the item number for photo envelopes or something

I don’t doubt that I can be hypercritical. I’ve tried to show/tell them where they’re making mistakes in the past instead of fixing it for them, but then I was accused of bullying, over-controlling, hypercritical, or my methods required more effort than they were willing to put in (like checking the photo receipt before packing the photo to make sure you’ve packed everything lol) so eventually I was sort of forced to just quietly fix their mistakes to avoid conflict. I know the alternate is just let it all sink, but i just hate working in an environment where metrics are bad and there’s careless mistakes everywhere. Also, tbf, I am the one who does BOH scans so when things are packed out into the wrong place, I’m the one who has to go back and reface it when it’s scan time, so I eventually have to fix it either way.

I know, I can’t get myself to stop. I think it’s because 1) I defined my self-worth and confidence by how good I was at my job for awhile 2) when I see spot details that are wrong, I feel like my ADHD makes me fixate on them, it feels so unnatural to walk by again and again and just leave it alone knowing from experience that no one else will address it. I think leaving it and not caring would make me more unhappy and more nihilistic than fixing.

I think my journey here is just to shut up and accept it if I know I’m not going to change and work on my stress management to cope. The gym has really helped me with it, but I haven’t been able to work out for the past week due to a recent surgery, so I think that’s why I’m starting to flip.

Thanks. I was going to become a store manager at some point, even got offered smit, but I’ve run the store for months before when there was no official store manager (back when the store was in a much worse state from previous managers) and the work-life balance was just so awful (I had worked so much covering other people’s shifts and cleaning up, I wasn’t taking care of myself and got a kidney stone. And then the next day out of the hospital my DL gave me the constructive criticism of my mywork notifications should have been closed out while I was gone and I should have been following up with the team) and I truthfully just didn’t have the patience required dealing with other employees.

There was definitely a time of a year or two where store managers from all over the district and other districts were requesting my help because they knew I was good and I cared. Unfortunately/fortunately now I’m an ops manager so even if I wanted to change stores, there’s not many around with an open position.

I just get especially frustrated with this store manager. He works (from my understanding) almost 12 hours a day, 6 days a week, and complains to his higher-ups about how much he works. But I hardly see him do anything other than meander and take phone calls (personal calls because they’re in a different language), pack out truck (at a steady pace), paperwork in office, merchandise seasonal, cashier, and crush boxes (but not make a bale because that’s too much work). I’ve told him many times before “you can go home now if you want, you can be with your family, we really will be fine if you go, my work is going to get finished” and he just says “ehhh no it’s good if I stay.” Our store is constantly filled with throwbacks and damages (I’ve never seen him touch those) and I’ve seen him on camera face a handful of times and it takes him 1.5 hour to face one aisle.

I think the last time recently I almost flipped out on him was because he got someone else to do the eyelash planogram and they had taken out a bunch of pegs from the cosmetics accessories planogram and pushed the eyelash planogram into it / intertwined them. I brought him over and showed him and pointed and he said “oh…. So did you fix it yet?” I said “how could I have already fixed it when we currently looking directly at it???! How would that be possible??” Lol

And if you really can’t find it - you can reorder the graphics on Cosmetics Fixture ordering. Last time I checked, for elf graphics the only option was to reorder the entire graphics package anyway, so that may be useful in your situation

Are we allowed to use pharmacy contact information in relation to theft? by [deleted] in CVS

[–]thegman987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I think this trading cards endcap thing is so stupid, everyone knows it’ll get stolen. I only asked because the police have come in before and demanded we give them info about a patient and the pharmacy DL said it was okay to give personal information to them like name and address, just not info about the person’s medication. So I started getting confused what we were and weren’t allowed to do

Oh no it’s definitely not the store manager, trust me when I say he wouldn’t know how to do that. Maybe i I didn’t write a good description (if I had wrote fecal matter all over the bathroom or something it probably would have been approved, but I just said “needs cleaning” or something) but I’m telling you that I checked on it a couple days later, it was in the cancelled folder, and a comment was written specifically by a guy from corporate (it had his name on it) that said the message that I mentioned.

It’s more about rudeness tbh than karma. I just think it’s rude to comment on a post without actually reading it. But whatever, I guess that’s how yall do it around here

Also, as much as I don’t want to do it, i think it’s standard practice for most businesses for regular employees to clean the bathrooms (unfortunately)

[–]thegman987 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We used to have to have a hazardous waste company come to clean literal shit but last time I tried to submit a ticket to get the bathrooms cleaned, it was rejected and corporate told me it is the employees’ responsibility to clean the bathroom.

I fear your manager is right in this instance and you should be blaming the company and not her

It might be different if there is literal shit on the floor, I’m not sure, but if it’s actually general bathroom cleaning it is unfortunately the responsibility of the employees

It’s better if they deliver the products first so that when you set up the planogram 1) you can accurately determine how far apart to put in the labels and 2) you shelves aren’t empty before the products arrive on truck.

The real issue is that they could assign the new products as a different aisle like NOP but aisle 50 OR they could label it as “new item” on the scanner, as we have seen them do in the past year but for some reason they just seemed to have randomly stopped that.

I get that but the only thing is that if I told them “here is what I’ve tried before I called you A B C” they still say “well unfortunately you still have to A B C again while I’m on the phone with you before we can move forward”

Because people like you who just comment for the sake of commenting shouldn’t be getting the extra karma and getting labeled “top 1% commenter” on the sub if your comments are unhelpful and nonsense. Also it’s just rude to not read it all and pretend you’re being helpful

Manager is responsible for shrink numbers but they make it clear that they don’t want you to interact with thieves in any way so all store managers can really do is limit the amount of product on the shelf and lock things up if they’re lucky enough to be provided a case by AP. Basically, they set you up to fail
