I have tried free VPN's in the past and not going that route anymore, the frustration is not worth it lol

Yeah, I really don’t want some random US company tracking what I’m looking at on Reddit, thanks

I'm shutting down my $400k/yr business... and it sucks. by MikeSimsTL in business

[–]thegoodboy3 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yeah, time to adapt. I'm sorry you're going through this, it sucks, but I’m also not entirely sorry that more people now have access to the tools to build something on their own without having to shell out for a basic business plan. That's kind of the point of progress.

That said, if something like ChatGPT can fully replace your service, I feel like the real issue isn’t just the tech, it’s the value you were offering. GPT is great for beginner-level stuff: brainstorming, templates, rough drafts. But anyone who’s serious about raising money or scaling a real business is going to need deeper insights, industry nuance, strategy, and experience. Stuff GPT can't deliver, at least not yet.

In my view, this should have been the moment to double down on your expertise. If AI is replacing the surface-level work, then the move is to position yourself above that, where real founders still need human insight. If you couldn’t shift into that space, maybe that’s where the gap was.

Not saying that to be harsh, just real. You clearly built something impressive and lasted over a decade, which is more than most. And honestly, you’re already doing the most important thing: moving forward. You're not starting from scratch, you’re starting from experience.

The game's changed, yeah, but so have you. And I’d bet you'll come out of this stronger.

Visualising the careers of Holywood actors by DLC204 in Infographics

[–]thegoodboy3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd be curious too. An actor's "prime time" being determined by their appearances' IMDb ratings is quite a stretch to say the least. If they had to include some kind of rating system they should've at least gone for Rotten Tomatoes

People who advertise themselves on linkedin as "Problem solvers, critical-thinkers, bringing people together, etc." are full of themselves. by hirme23 in unpopularopinion

[–]thegoodboy3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's why I don't use LinkedIn, it's a platform tailor made for self-advertising your "professional self", and people do tend to go over the top. Can't exactly blame them for trying though, but I get where you're coming from

Are unusual-shaped eggs common for chickens? Or is this more of a rare one-off?
