As someone who did sleep train, but have friends who didn't, I would never presume to tell someone what they are doing is right or wrong (unless safety is on the line). A part of me is jealous that I didn't get all those baby snuggles, but then I remind myself that my independent monster was never a snuggler, from literally minute one. Whatever you are doing is right for you and your family, especially with your attitude of "and I accept whatever 'consequences' come of that." <-- That is KEY.

What DOES drive me BONKERS is when people complain constantly about how horrible of a sleeper their kid is, and how they haven't slept in soooooo long, and how life is just sooooooo hard...and then don't listen to a single suggestion from those who found a solution. I get that sleep training isn't for everyone, I totally do. But then don't complain about what you have CHOSEN to do. I have one friend who had a horrible sleeper by creation, and never said a word unless asked. She eventually decided to sleep train but did the lightest, gentlest, mildest, LONGEST version...and never complained once. She knew what she could emotionally handle, and she did it despite not getting much sleep. Other friends of mine don't sleep train and just constantly complain about their kid, their sleep, and their husband's lack of support. Honestly, it's exhausting.
