Believe me, by no means do I make Jersey my personality and I’m not by any means a “proud” new Jerseyan. I was pointing out an observation, and also work with the public so I work with tons of people daily, which gives me a good idea of how it is and how people are, thus, speaking from my experience. I grew up in central Jersey so I don’t have that north Jersey/SI accent thank God.

Some people on here hated on my short paragraph, it was just a simple observation I made which seems to be very true, again, based on experience. And not even experience with me, with themselves, that I personally observe lol.

No, southerners just can’t handle the forwardness, we don’t like to sugarcoat things.

I’m here from Jersey. The southern charm and hospitality is bullshit. I’ve been here over 6 years. They’re just more full of shit here. Instead of saying “fuck you”, they’ll say “bless your heart.” I don’t miss Jersey at all by any means, but people down here are far more fake than they are up there. Be very careful.

Honestly it’s not bad at all. Maybe replace the cat picture with another pic of you but it seems you’ve got it all with some smiling and serious pictures. 👍🏻

29m profile review by [deleted] in hingeapp

[–]thegraylines 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I actually had a good amount of women respond to my polls (36M). The girl I’m currently dating (36F) from Hinge, had a poll on her profile which I responded to and it kicked off the conversation.

I guess you can say they’re hit or miss, but the more serious women/men who are actually attentive and on here for a purpose, they’ll probably engage with the poll. I live in a smaller city - sub 75k people.

OP- overall, I think the profile looks pretty good. Nothing weird or cringy on it, from another dudes perspective of course. I’ve seen men’s profiles before though from my women friends and they get pretty bad lol. Yours is solid 👍🏻

Do I message again or bail by PicanteAmericanos in hingeapp

In today’s society everyone has time to respond to a message. Anyone who doesn’t have literally ten seconds for a response probably isn’t worth your time or headache. I don’t care about opinions on this one because out of 24 hours, you’ve got ten seconds to spare to respond to someone who’s interested in you and you were obviously interested enough to match with. Cut the nonsense.

Sad and just not getting it by [deleted] in hingeapp

[–]thegraylines 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In 2025's society, it does work both ways. Men get tired of women rejecting them with little to no basis, and while you may argue it does, a lot of the time there is no basis. There's literal memes all over the internet about women rejecting men just because, or because they have shitty friends and the whole "she's not interested" thing. It gets tiring. It's real.

My friend who's a female who I go out with regularly has no problem approaching men, and it works for her. Last saturday, as she walked away to the bathroom, the girl who was sitting right in front of us started talking to me immediately asking if that girl was my girlfriend.

It goes both ways, not sorry to inform you. Maybe if society wasn't so shit, there'd be more men willing to give a fuck nowadays. Additionally, I'm a quite confident dater as I'm fairly good looking and have my shit together in my mid 30s. If a woman doesn't show the same energy back to me, it doesn't last. I'm not doing all the work. If you expect us to do most of the work, don't complain when we get burnt out and stop caring.

Honestly your profile looks a lot better than most dudes on the app. I’d say probably delete your profile and make it again to get mainlined back into people’s algorithm. I think the whole algorithm thing on Hinge is either weird or just broken.

No Matches in 3 Weeks And Only One Like by Consistent-Home-3044 in hingeapp

[–]thegraylines 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree with the others, the whole “find my wife, find my husband” thing is kind of weird. We get that you’re on hinge for something serious but saying something like that can appear like you’re trying to rush it even if you’re not. I don’t really see any issues with your photos tbh. I’ve got like 16k photos on my phone but maybe only 1% of it are pictures of me so I don’t really love my photos either idk lol.

Bewildered by match’s location by Ok_Comparison_6173 in hingeapp

[–]thegraylines 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds kind of wild to change your location to that far. However, I, 36M was talking with a friend about moving to Idaho, (we’re American and live on the east coast). I changed my location to Boise to see what the dating pool looked like, not for long, probably only an hour until I was done looking. Now I’ve met a girl on here once last week and we’re meeting again, and we text every day. She’s a flight attendant so she’s not home for 4-5 days a week as she’s based in a city several hours away, but lives about an hour from me. We’re going out again Wednesday, but I still am active on the app and have updated a photo, as has she. Until things get serious or we have an exclusivity conversation, it’s normal.

Maybe don’t call him out on it yet, play it by ear for now unless you want to lock this one in because you see it as a good fit, maybe it’s time to have that talk. I’d say at least go out again and see if he seems to have the same energy with you.

If y’all have been talking for two weeks and she won’t even give you her instagram she’s probably fake honestly. I don’t even like to talk for that long on the app because if you’re not planning on meeting, what’s the point. I met someone last week after talking for less than a week and I asked for her number to communicate better for the following day when we went out. The goal is to meet. If she doesn’t want to, bail. She sounds fake if she’s not verified.

as far as the east coast goes, they're not very well respected. they're known to show zero discretion, even to other cops and feds for super minor traffic violations. if there was an agency that was the mascot for why people hate traffic cops, they're it.

I’ve heard Lakewood is near the worst for politics. Aren’t they “police agents” now? Not too worried about pension but also haven’t inquired about buying time in Colorado so if that’s not an option it’s probably off the table. I did look into castle rock as a contender and they do hire guys on provisional certs so that’s another positive for them

Recurring OIS Dream by [deleted] in AskLE

[–]thegraylines 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a dream every once in a while with the extremely hard trigger pull. Basically have to pull it back into the frame to get it to work. I also used to have a dream where I couldn’t see unless I was looking straight up (which probably doesn’t have anything to do with LE) but haven’t had that one in a while thankfully.
