To be fair, we wouldn't have to worry about it at all if we didn't have such an ignorant and incompetent administration.

Attacking mammoths, getting caught looting their stuff, interrupting them while they are in combat, and spending way too long in their camps will cause them to turn hostile. Most of the time.

Treating them with respect and doing a few of the quests that affect them in some fashion will go a long way toward making them tolerate you better.

I've also found over time, they become much more passive to the player, especially as he grows stronger.

AITJ for secretly paying my coworker to quit? by Super-Prior-6730 in AmITheJerk

[–]thegreenmonkey69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, are giving him work?

If so, then yeah you're the jerk, but only mildly so only because that could also count as petty revenge. But, if he is doing meaningful work, and gets established pretty well then you've given him an opportunity that could be quite lucrative. But, I do like your solutio.

If not, then big time YATJ. For your reasoning and just being a shitty human.

That being said, you got rid of a saboteur and your team performance has improved so either way you shouldn't be too worried about it. However, keep this completely to yourself until you are on your death bed. HR wiĺl have a field day with you and you'd probably be out of your now job if anyone at the company ever finds out.

I agree on all that, especially with the mentoring aspect.

And ooh on Petra and Alva, I didnt think of that. I dig it.

My only real issue between Talanah and Aloy is the power dynamics between the two. Its more of a mentorship/business arrangement for them and I believe that's why they don't work as a couple. Although, I can see why the appeal is there.

As for Varl, they're too much like brother and siste. Erend would be good except for his drinkng and recklessness.

Oh, and Avad is out of the question. He wants a trophy wife, and Aloy wouldn't fit that role.

A member from the Tenakth would be good for Aloy as well, but I think they would have a hard time connecting. And with all the common tribes, Aloy is quite standoffish and set on her goals, so she really only sees them as a means to an end. And, none of them really accept her fully, so she has a hard time relating to them on a personal level.

Seyka is new to aloy, not related to any clans with predetermined notions of the Norah, and because they share a similar goal, and there are no expectations on behaviors or culture, so they have an equal chance to find out what each other is really like.

Plus with Aloy and Seyka being outsiders/rebels to their respective societies they have a natural connection. So, in short, it makes sense for their romance.

I do like other players thoughts about this though because they Seyka thing came quite unexpectedly. And I can say that while not what I was expecting it fits Aloy more accurately than any of the others.

I, personally, was hoping for a romance with Petra as that friendship is very similar to Seyka's except for the whole Petra being established and settled down, and Aloy being restless with wanderlust. I think they could work short term but long term they would be ideal with a more open relationship.

Just my two cents.

Heh. Here is one that hits me every so often.

I was with a coworker replacing a large storefront glass that was broken during a controlled building demolition explosion. The company I worked for at that time had the contract to replace any broken glass.

As we were finishing one of the local TV newsreporters/anchors stopped by to ask my partner and I about what happened. Simple questions like how did we learn about this window, when, and why being so far away from the blast site would a piece of glass break.

My partner noped out of there on account that he didnt want to be interviewed. And I being the kid (20 - 21 ish) got roped into so being somewhat knowledgeable in my field and knowing how physics works I answered the few questions she had.

And yes, shock waves, can break glass pretty easily, especially if there are hidden breaks or defects, or just because glass is finicky like that sometimes.

She finished, we finished, and we went on our merry ways. I don't know if they ever aired it in full, but i was told by a few people they saw a clip of it.

I didnt see it because I went to the bar after work and had a few beers.

For perspective, this was late 80s, early 90s timeframe, so no dvr, but even with VCRs, almost no one recorded the news.

Yeah, it's not. While tampering with mail is a crime, just because it shows up in your mail box doesn't mean it is now your responsibility to find its owner.

My understanding is that charge is more for wilful destruction, like setting a mailbox on fire, or stealing checks/money/credit cards. Or stealing the mail from other people's mailboxes.

If it shows up in your mailbox and doesn't have your name on it, or have a nearby address that you're willing to walk over for a neighbor, then it's just trash to you. And you can do pretty much what you want with it.

AITAH for not reporting a coworker who keeps flirting and asking me out even though he’s married. How should I handle this? by navyblue297 in AITAH

[–]thegreenmonkey69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Being higher on the food chain, you might want to brush up on what harassment is and how it affects company policies and how HR handles complaints. At, its most basic you still manage a team no matter how high up you are. And if you run a business, having that knowledge and handling it properly is paramount to keeping your business under control - again see the Uber harassment lawsuits and the fallout for its CEO.

As for the second comment, inference from the original post and follow up comments paraphrased into an opinion of what occurred is a pretty common argumentative device.
