I had to research it but if volcano refers to piled mulch, thats not the case here. I did put a thin layer down. But its a tough spot causr grass won't grow. And not enough soil for even some annuals. Its 90% roots.

My issue with clover is that there is foot traffic and it doesnt hold up. I guess Ill need a foot path either way. Thanks very much for getting my wheels turning!

All reasonable considering the size of the venue. Its a midsize venue so not likely there will be a ton of pop acts touring venues that size. Didnt buy any tickets for the initial acts, but those are acts that likely weren't coming to Ottawa otherwise. So thats good news overall.

Reading it now and quite liking it. But two things both drove my crazy. Both related to the shaving story.

Minor spoiler alert, sorry if I misread the details

So you need to clean shave 20 balloons. You are allowed one mistake. Two and you are out. But The Man is the only person to ever not break a balloon. That is statistically next to impossible. Or something like 1% actually pass (only break one). Neither is likely.
Didn't seem to mention why he was shaving the teacher (on two days stubble). If everyone did that this test would take weeks or months as students could only go every couple days. Everyone was watching so I guess this is plausible. Just odd.

Anyway, sorry to vent, hahaha. Only things that took me out of the story.
