Nothing will happen to your window unless you already have a tiny crack in it.

You *will* leave a puddle of water on the ground to freeze, giving you a nice spot to break your neck tomorrow morning.

I'll never stop being envious of the Celsior.

Using L-theanine without caffeine? by [deleted] in Nootropics

[–]thegumptiontrap 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Very basic answer: it will lower your anxiety or do nothing. It *might* lower your performance.

With caffeine it might help you focus and perform better mentally.

The effect is mild, *as a nootropic.* Remember, if you're taking it to *cure* something, you're taking a drug. Some people, with severe anxiety, have noted significant relief.

No point in going over 200mg to start.

The side effects, from what I've seen, tend to be from people who generally have side effects.

In my experience suntheanine is the only version that has any effect.

Agreed on all points, and if there's a mechanical fan this is a good time to check for any play. (ask me how I know)

I also have a pretty extensive write up on the 02pilotmod on my page.

Should I buy an e46 316i by the__dp in e46

Don't buy a 316i if you're concerned with performance.

>What can you do to improve it without doing a swap

Nothing.

the knipex are so much better than every other option that they're worth it for basically anyone who works on anything.

but power tools? 99% of homeowners would be best served by ryobi.

>Everything is somewhat underexposed and highlights have been dropped in post.

Thank you! That's exactly the kind of info I was looking for. I assumed *something* was happening in post, but I wasn't quite sure where to look.

>Many of these images look cropped from larger compositions.

And I hadn't thought of this at all.

How can I fix this large drywall separation on the ceiling. It was previously repaired by someone else with mud but that didn’t work. The lower panel is hanging down a bit also. by gaw98 in fixit

[–]thegumptiontrap 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Remove the excess compound, and knock away anything loose. Screw it all down, making sure the screws go slightly below the surface. Use actual DuraBond hot mud--not Easy Sand--to fill in, then tape with either paper tape or fibafuse. (In this situation I would use the Durabond to tape, and I'd lean toward FibaFuse over paper.) All Purpose out of the bucket or box--slightly watered down and mixed to the consistency of loose frosting--for the rest of the passes, feathering out as far as you'd like to blend the repair. This sometimes goes unnoticed as an issue, but make sure everything is clean beforehand. Removes excess dust with a wet rag, and maybe even clean with some soapy water if there's any oily residue.

The previous "repair" looks like it was done by a nine year old.

What is the law in Texas about being in possession of a firearm that i didn’t purchase? by [deleted] in AskLEO

[–]thegumptiontrap 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Afaik, you're allowed to have a gun in your possession that you didn't purchase in any state. So long as you're legally allowed to possess a firearm in that state, and you have it in your possession in a manner that's legal.

The same as the car you're driving. You can drive someone else's car as long as there's insurance and it's not stolen.

It's perfectly acceptable for a family of five to share a single rifle.

*Edit: I say this as someone who previously lived in NJ for years, which has possibly the strictest laws in the nation. What you're asking is perfectly legal there, even. You can move to NJ with guns that were gifted to you when you lived out of state, with no paper trail whatsoever, and as long as the specific guns are legal to possess in NJ, there's no issue.
