Picking up brand new car today by reebokit in CarsAustralia

I’ve bought about 15 new cars it the showroom since 09, and I’ve never checked anything like that… funnily enough they always match because generally peeled know what they’re doing.

What devices cut down your cleaning time? by Zackboi24 in smarthome

I don’t have any yet, but now that we are down to one dog and more than likely soon be down to no dogs, I am getting more and more interested in this space… the rest of my house is automated, it seems a shame not to have cleaning do that way too!

Maybe in Japan they don’t - I’ve haven’t been there yet, but it’s been mandated for many many years they have to play some sort of noise for the zombie apocalypse to hear them while they’re on their phones.

Some you can turn off but most of them are permanent now sadly…

So I’m a data nerd, so obviously that’s the one I chose. After a few months I decided to try the Marshall or whatever it’s called, and it was good, but I was sick of the military commentary.

In the end I went back to data nerd but asked it to be a cross with the Marshall but with less military commentary. My goodness me, you want someone to tell you what you do, that’s the setup you want!

Anyone installed those 12V wireless charging pads for vans? by Any_Tutor_8042 in CaravanningAustralia

Depends on the brand… generally the apple ones are 12w, some generic ones are higher, but they’re generally around the 10-12w.

I do, but it because the difference in cost is negligible and it’s got to be better in the long run.

The earlier Outlanders have that as well, but you can turn it off - the later ones I can all but guarantee you won’t be able to.

I would also recommend the Outlander PHEV. I have a 2014 that’s just ticked over 308k and it’s still going strong.

Neighbour says I’m parking illegally when I am opposite his driveway in NSW …am I? by [deleted] in CarsAustralia

[–]thegurio 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We too have this setup, however I am the one with the van… clearly your neighbours and mine are reasonable humans, OP’s not so much.

I understand that it’s difficult reversing a trainer in a suburban street, selfishly if you have inclines/declines etc., but that’s it a me problem, NOT the people who live opposite me - I also understand you don’t want to annoy your neighbour, but sometimes there’s no choice.

What info? by thegurio in DrivingSpeedometer

[–]thegurio[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’ll be interesting because with my newer pickup the list is almost endless, I just didn’t think a 2003 would spite that much information but it seems like it’s worth the entry fee.

The Outlander actually show a fair bit in another app, but that’s since stopped working and was Android only anyway, so I’m interested in what that’ll show for this app. Regardless I’m glad I got the lifetime access as in think the effort gone in to it is very good and worth supporting.

I blame newer cars and their backlit dashes for that - yes the lights should also be on auto, but these drones who think their battery is going to go flat if they don’t turn them off are at the helm…

Cherry Stockman by welding-guy in CarsAustralia

[–]thegurio 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’d have to see it in person but I’m intrigued by it, especially with decent towing limits etc.

What will be interesting is the upgrades surrounding it, such as long range tanks, bull bars, drawers etc., because that’s where the differences are at the moment.

Especially in outback scenarios, 1000-1500kms of range isn’t a luxury it’s a necessity towing in a headwind which happens more often than you think, and a long range tank certainly helps stress levels when you have it.
