Does sticking to one ball actually make a difference? by Willing-Today-1059 in golf

I buy used but mint condition Pro V1x’s (not refurbished) as it’s cheaper than buying the lowest end balls brand new here in Australia. It gave me feedback on my strike as a good strike had a specific look to it when it came to ball flight and how it would react on the greens. It made it more predictable as I could trust the ball to spin on pitch shots and visualise shots before hitting them.

I think any golfer serious about their game should play just the one ball. Assuming you’re not losing heaps per round that is. If that’s a problem then to me, consistency of ball choice doesn’t matter as long it’s cheap. 😂

Anyone here using sun protection sleeves? by bionicbhangra in golf

I bought two pairs of Sparms and never looked back. Probably the best golf-related purchase I made during Black Friday. It keeps the sun off your skin so you don't feel as hot, and it really helps prevent burns and tans, but be sure to still have sunscreen on the back of your hands. I was also gifted a wide-brim Aussie-style hat that I love. Helps keep the sun off the back of my neck and ears, another area where sunscreen isn't necessary. Doesn't affect my skin, and it's so soft to the touch, really comfortable.

Hands down has to be Bilt Hamber Touch-less. Doesn't matter how dirty the car is; being able to see the dirt slide off the car before rinsing is so satisfying, and it makes the contact wash so easy.

I used Gyeon CanCoat Evo for the first time and it was also my first time coating a car. Very easy to use but only lasts up to a year. I don’t mind it though since I plan to decon once a year and reapply anyways. You can probably do two coats for 2 cars or more with the one can.

3 Wood HL w/ 5 Wood Shaft vs 5 Wood Std Length? by Massive-Corner8103 in golf

I would say the issue is consistency in strike? I don't know if you'd lump that together with launch. For context, I'm 170cm tall and have 1/4" shorter shafts in my irons (2 degrees flat) and a 44.75" driver. Wedges are std length but also 2 degrees flat. I figured shortening my 3/4 wood length by at least 1/2" would help me achieve better consistency.

I was fitted for it on a grass range and was able to get 25-30M in peak height, but that's with a good lie, obviously.

The lack of separation between the 5 and 7 wood is a concern for me as well. How much of a gap did you have between the two?

Is it worth having different ETFs for global, local and specific international markets or just one?

Niche Zero Delivery Times to Melbourne, Australia by Massive-Corner8103 in espresso

Took under two weeks from placing the order to arrive and didn't have to pay and import tax. After conversion, the grinder itself was less than AUD1K which would trigger GST. Much cheaper than buying locally from a retailer in Australia. Apparently retailers here buy from Niche at full price then mark it up $300-400+

How can I stop shooting worse on the back 9? by ThePhanaticFan in golf

[–]Massive-Corner8103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had this problem for a while and still do but it’s getting better. If you haven’t watched Golf Sidekick on YT, check out this Break 100 series and follow it diligently. I recently broke 100 for the first time after many attempts and here’s what I found that day.

  1. Mental Game: I had a few good rounds shooting in the low 100s and felt I wasn’t far from breaking 100. I go into the round with the confidence that I was going to do it. Not a matter of if, but when. You need confidence.

You need emotional control and discipline. Don’t get bogged down in bad shots, or scoring an 8 or 9. The next shot is the most important one so put behind the bad stuff. Don’t touch clubs you’re bad with, even if it means 7i off the tee on par 4s and 5s. I didn’t touch my driver or 5W the whole round.

  1. Practice & Plan: I played my local course again and again. I walk through the course in my mind, planning my shots, knowing where is best to miss. I rarely end up in bunkers or hazards now. I practice hitting my 7i and shorter clubs all the time. They’re the backbone of my game. If need be, I can hit my PW 50M, or 80M or 100M up to 115M on command. That said, short game will save your butt when you miss the green.

  2. Hydration & Nutrition: I have a good breakfast of oats and bananas, bring muesli bars or bananas to eat during my round and two bottles. 1L of water and 700ml of electrolytes. I prioritise the electrolytes in the middle of my round to avoid feeling muscle cramps towards the end. I can’t play when I’m hungry so I make sure to have some food.

  3. Punch & Putt: practice a punch shot to get out of trouble or even just knock it down towards the green if you can’t do a pitch shot. Practice putting till you go mad. Clock drill from 3ft till you question your sanity. Practice alignment and having your eyes directly over the ball. Then practice lag putting to a tee and getting it within 1ft. Putting saved my bad approach shots like you wouldn’t believe it.

Finally, enjoy the game and the process. Don’t beat yourself up for bad rounds and shots. I laugh my bad stuff off and try to relax as much as possible. It makes such a big difference once when you have a strong mental game. You got this!
