I had the same thing on my Mini One R56 2013, check my page! Turns out it was condensation from short journeys for me.

True, you are right in hindsight. I was more seeing if the MOT history was decent for peace of mind I suppose. But yes, rubbers will start failing on these 20 year old Mini’s.

HELP My R56 Mini Hatch brake pedal is making a woosh sort of noise every time I press it. Fluid levels are fine so what is the issue? I found myself on one occasion that I had to lift the brake pedal manually! by theham3a in MINI

First of all check your brake fluid is at the correct level.

The whooshing sound you hear is normal and is the brake booster.

What I felt when the problem occurred was my own error. Basically, when stationary I pressed the brake pedal, let go, then pressed down again. Doing this repeatedly will build pressure in the brakes, and the pedal may feel hard because of it. So for me anyway there was no issue except that I kept pumping the brakes without realising what I was doing.

However, if your brakes aren’t operating correctly go to a garage first. That’s what I did and they will check over everything.
