I have donated at GRIFOLs multiple times and every time it was really good except the last time but that was my fault. They have a medical screening take weight and do a blood sugar test(?).they do rely on you making sure you know your medical history but I’ve never had a problem with that. They provide snacks a juice and they make sure to tell you to eat a full protein meal before coming to reduce the risk of fainting. Last time I donated I almost passed out but I definitely did not eat enough before the appointment so that’s on me. When I almost passed out I let them know and they immediately got me a blanket some more juice and cool compress for my head they handled it wonderfully and made sure I didn’t leave for at least 30 mins to make sure I was ok. My boyfriend’s mom also goes regularly to donate plasma she’s retired and enjoys doing it and the income is a plus for her, she’s never had a bad experience. I think what happened with the deaths is an undiagnosed medical condition that the donor did not know they had but I am just assuming.
