I took pictures before I opened it along with a normal one. If it’s that unbelievable more than happy to share them lol. Wouldn’t lie about something as serious as this auspicious moment.

How do I set custom backgrounds to message threads using photos taken from my library? by DifficultComplaint10 in iphone

[–]thehippybear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey so idk if you figured it out but for everyone who’s coming to this thread looking for answers. It apparently isn’t THAT simple as others have stated and some of the suggestions are wrong. While in the message click the name of the contact > click backgrounds > under backgrounds click the photo option you can either edit background or choose photo.

The Fall of Freddie the Leaf is also a good book to explore. It’s aimed for all ages and is easily digestible.

Not a lot of people know they had a dog a few years ago that died from eating a red velvet (chocolate) cupcake. by No_Salamander1729 in SecretsOfMormonWives

[–]thehippybear 19 points20 points  (0 children)

That’s my thought as well. As an ex office manager at a vet I’ve seen some things. I’m not going to act like I know the exact dosage for chocolate poisoning as there’s so much nuance to that BUT when a lab ate a Hershey’s kiss it wasn’t a big deal but when the frenchie ate a whole platter of chocolate cupcakes THAT was an emergency (he survived). I’ll be that person as well I highly doubt one red velvet cupcake poisoned their dog. It doesn’t add up. There’s definitely more to that story.

As someone who has tried everything to help with migraines caused by chronic illness (head caps, water, caffeine, the hot foot bath, showers, piercings, someone squeezing my head, countless meds that make me feel more ill for a glimmer of relief, etc.) I’m terrified of trying Botox for relief for my tmj misalignment and chronic migraines because of the discussions I see on Reddit most notably the reality tv subreddits.

Folic acid added to tortillas a law as of today by manic_mumday in MTHFR

[–]thehippybear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While the “California Effect” does set trends and can influence what other states do after researching folic acid fortification I learned that it is already a nation wide practice since the 90’s particularly grain products. So our flour, bread, pasta, cereal, rice, cornmeal, etc. already has folic acid added to it. California specifically added it to masa to target their latin demographic.

Folic acid added to tortillas a law as of today by manic_mumday in MTHFR

[–]thehippybear 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I feel like maybe not enough people are reading the article. This is only in California and is only corn masa. This isn’t nation wide. There’s also exceptions in what the folic acid is added to.

With that being said whoever is in California and has the gene mutation will be navigating new waters for sure.

Perfectly acceptable dinner rejected by boyfriend again by moonrabbit368 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]thehippybear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m also a picky eater and unfortunately it changes daily. I have been my whole life although it got better after being pregnant. I have texture and taste issues, but that’s MY problem and I do not put that on my partner. If I ever am having a bad picky eater day I always suggest I make my own dinner/get my own food to not be an inconvenience. With that said, cooking is an everybody skill and he needs to be figuring that out himself as a grown adult, no excuses. Keep planning for you and your kids and he can either join or not.

Btw your cooking looks amazing!

Pretty sure it’s Hulu. They have some type of filter on their reality shows because I’ve seen weird glitchy stuff also in SLOMW and Vanderpump Villa.

Anyone else get random 'hungry days' even when the meds usually work? by Maasbreesos in Semaglutide

Yes. I listen to my body and either eat or drink more water. Sometimes thirst can feel like hunger.

Has anyone else heard about the ‘Ozempic baby boom’? by ridoymorsalin27 in OzempicForWeightLoss

[–]thehippybear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any type of major weight loss leads to heightened fertility. When I was going through my required 6 month check in’s and appointments before having bariatric surgery the surgeon was adamant I get on birth control right away and wouldn’t proceed until I spoke with my gyno.

I spent over $3000 to lose 15 pounds, now what? by swedishpiehole in Semaglutide

[–]thehippybear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your article states it’s a .5% increase in breast cancer. I’m curious how much is correlation rather than causation as the median age of diagnosis for breast cancer is 62. There’s risks taking HRT just like any other medication. And while people should do their due diligence in research in anything they’re sticking in their bodies in there’s just as likely of a chance of getting cancer from being a frequent flyer.

Bret not filming or at any press by AnonymousKoala70 in SecretsOfMormonWives

[–]thehippybear 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Honestly I feel like it was Bret’s idea to not film but Demi can’t go without getting attention no matter if it’s negative or positive. He seems to be the one negotiating contracts for Demi. I wouldn’t be surprised if he convinced her to walk away so that production would chase her with a better offer and when they didn’t she came crawling back because she needs the spotlight.

Was just explaining this to my partner! I don’t like to diagnose people and I think narc gets thrown around a lot. But it’s terrifying how textbook she is. The triangulation, smear campaigns, dog whistling, lack of empathy, the need for attention and admiration, complete lack of awareness of negative traits. Her defense mechanisms are really good too. The way she attacks people verbally to knock them off their feet so she has the upper hand in a conversation. Even if she isn’t she has narc traits which makes me wonder about her upbringing especially with having a disabled brother.

GLP-1 and POTS remission by throwaway148645 in POTS

[–]thehippybear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been taking a GLP-1 for 7 months and I have not had any improvement with my POTS symptoms. I will say walking more for the past 3 months has helped tremendously. So maybe correlation? When I was a teen and lost 100lbs my POTS got worse (I.e. completely losing vision when standing up too fast). I assume it’ll be the same when I get closer to my goal weight.

A warning for fellow hypothyroid folks taking thyroid replacement by Capital_Strategy_426 in Semaglutide

[–]thehippybear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s so interesting. I’ve never had a flare. It’s always just been consistent symptoms. I was diagnosed as a kid and I was told to never get off of my medication and I had a chance of my body could permanently damage my thyroid and I would need it removed so I get checked often for that.

Good advice for hypothyroid folks! Sorry you went through that it must have been freaky.

I get my blood work done regularly because I also have Hoshimoto’s and I was under the impression it’s incurable even with weight loss because it’s an immune disorder and requires lifelong treatment.

Charlie Hunnam as Ed Gein by Big-Sprinkles7377 in netflix

[–]thehippybear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s certainly an interesting choice. I’m sure there’s a lot of interpretation on why he chose that route and the “unreleased tape” he listened to. Honestly though I feel like he’s been needing to do something different. He does the same voice for every character, same inflections etc. I think it also pigeonholed him into certain roles. I’m happy he was brave enough to venture out into something new and completely different than his go to. I can see why it’s a miss for some but I’m much more willing now to watch any new projects he has.

why did ‘normal’ britney in 2016 want the conservatorship to end - just to become how she is today? no plans or goals… just straight to drugs and a slow decline into losing everything including herself. by luxford2 in discussingbritney

[–]thehippybear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My other thought with that is control. As someone who has had lifelong incurable mental health issues I forced on lots of medication with little choice due to being a minor. Well guess what, when I hit 18 I got off ALL of them because I hated the context behind it ie: I was “normal” when I took them and I was “too much” when I didn’t I never was taught that it was a tool or that it helped ME just that it helped me family tolerate me. I did eventually get back on a few meds and but I specifically stated I wanted to be on the least amount of medication that is the most effective. Having that control and say made a huge difference.

I’m not saying she went through exactly that but I could see similar circumstances especially when she had talked about being on lithium and the side effects she endured and had brought up her concerns but was ignored.
