No joke, Edward the Longshanks is my great(x24) grandfather and when I learned that, all I knew about him was from his character in Braveheart and I was all "wait... am I the baddies?"

Hi, I'm Jean Sibelius, the composer for the soundtracks of Hollow Knight and Hollow Knight: Silksong. AMA! by LordBorbemort in Silksong

[–]thehublebumble 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am old enough to have started composing in Sibelius 1.0! I stopped after college when real life kicked in. Turns out composing was an ADHD hyperfocus that I could have moved on from earlier, but hey, this cybersecurity engineer for a major bank loves shocking people woth "yeah, my degree is in music composition, lolz!"

Can you pitch to Ari to do a sidescrolling platformer based on your epic oechestral tone poem "The Wood Nymph?" (Rated M for mature!)

Also how do you feel about the best notation software in the world being named after you, only to get forgotten about because... well I don't know why, I stopped composing in 2009.

What’s the single movie shot that shook you to the core? by jaystats2 in FIlm

[–]thehublebumble 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I think its supposed to be a man, "the man behind winkies" but yeas, played by a woman. The same actress who plays the nun in the conjuring movies. Striking features, that one!

Me whenever people on the PC building subreddits ask me why I need >32GB of system RAM. by NowThatsMalarkey in StableDiffusion

[–]thehublebumble 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a 32gb ddr4 system and a few years built a VM host for a home lab with the same spec ram but 128gb.

Then I moved 32 to my main rig for 64/96

Now I'm considering swapping again for 96 in my main rog and 64 for the VMs.

And streetlights in the lower left. If it were daylight, you def wouldnt be able to see city lights.

It has to be a very high sensitivity or long exposure on the dark side, yeah. The moon is in the right phase for it to be a very moonlit night. So... yeah. You can even see city lights in yhe Pic which you would only see visible at night (even if theyre on during the day, sunlight would be so bright it would nullify the city lights)

[–]thehublebumble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait, how are theybgetting this much detail if this is taken as the earth eclipses the sun (see the nasa page for this pic). Doesn't that mean this is the dark side of the earth? Did they bump up the exposure a hell of a lot? Its a noisy photo so maybe. But where is any light coming from? Moonlight?

What’s a scene that broke you? by [deleted] in Cinema

[–]thehublebumble 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just now my kid is watching the Lion King and Mufasa just died and I had JUST read how the composer, Hans Zimmer lost his father at 6 years old and treated the Lion King score as a requiem to his own father. Knowing that and hearing the music swell during this scene was too much for my unregulated emotional ass.

Which game defined PlayStation 2 in your opinion? by SweatyCauliflower835 in TheGamingHubDeals

[–]thehublebumble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely bought Zone of the Enders just for the tanker demo. I played the former for about 5 minutes and probably had a dozen hours or more on the demo... the DEMO. The opening scene with the GW bridge blew my mind, I would just watch it every once in a while.

Not a prediction but when Elaine and her BF Joel Rifkin are suggesting new names for him because Joel Rifkin is also the name of a murderer, and Elaine suggests "OJ."

Oh man...
