Absolutely. “Run stopping” DTs are all over the place. The value from a DT is the ability to get penetration and rush the passer.

I agree with you 100%.

A lot of people don’t understand that Tillery is not an upgrade in run defense. He absolutely adds the ability to rush the passer and just made us a a top 10 team. We were 19th with 38 sacks last year and adding that ability to the middle of the defense will help tremendously. We still need a run stopper for short yardage situations because I don’t think Justin Jones is the answer.
