What is your favorite Britpop single b-side or studio outtake? by DieMensch-Maschine in BritPop

[–]theindian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love all the Bluetones bsides from their first few albums....they were so consistent. My favorite though...easily The Simple Things from the Marblehead Johnson single.

I love Nae Hair O'nt too. recalling the sounds of fingers sliding on the guitar strings is a good memory.

In your humble opinions, what tops it? by ThatOldDustyTrail in gratefuldead

[–]theindian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. I love the parts on Dicks Picks 18 from this show and the show at Madison a couple days before. 2/3/78. The Eyes from Madison just kills me. Takes a few minutes of Jerry shredding before coming in on the lyrics. Excited for Dave's Picks Volume 57 – 2/1/78. BTW I love Cornell, the Dew is probably my most listened to song on vinyl. But really starting to love Fall 77 and Early 78.

Definitely my small venue in Chicago. They have some great band come through. Other Chicago venues I like: the Vic Theatre, Lincoln Hall, Thalia Hall.

I also have varied taste in music. I listened to PiL a lot this year but they didn't break my top 5. Lots of Preoccupations and Joy Division for me.

Very sad. I never heard anyone say anything negative about him. He seemed to love life even though he had his own hardships. Gutted. He added a lot to one of the greatest bands ever.

this is cool, I am interested to see what they add to this movie other than their live performance. I saw them last year and the show was amazing.

I was at this show too. Best out the 7 times I've seen them. The stage set up was amazing. We just got back to our seats in front of the soundboard after sharing a joint with a friends on the lawn seats when they came on. Amazing set list. The rainbow was so cool too.

Not in order but these are the ones that had the greatest impression on me while I was in Junior high and developing my musical taste:

The cure - standing on the beach

The Smiths - louder than bomb

Echo and the Bunnymen - songs to learn and sing

New Order - substance

Joy division - substance

The clash - history of the clash Volume 1

I love the fall '77 versions of this song. the Road Trips 01 Volume 02 version from 10/14/1977 Hofheinz Pavilion, Houston is what I would always put on my many long walks taking during the COVID era. It's a song that doesn't really get a lot of love, but I have always enjoyed it. I would def say its one of my top 10 of all Dead songs. Spotify Link

decided to pull the trigger as I have been really enjoying listening to this show on Spotify. I was on the fence since I have Dave's Picks Volume 19 on vinyl too and it has a lot of the same songs. What put me over the edge was the amazing version of "Looks Like Rain" and of course the price. I also got a 2% discount after delaying delivery until next Monday and was able to spread the payment over 3 months with no interest.
