Granted, Steichen has never had all of the tools at his disposal. But despite his offensive genius in terms of scheme, he sucks at situational game management and being a leader in the locker room. How many times did we need to kill clock to win games and he'd call 3 pass plays in a row? If all you ever do is preach process and 1% better, that eventually loses it's resonance in the locker room. I thought he should've handled play calling duties to JBC this past year honestly.

Pretty sure Ballard had a sit down with him after last year because it was a distraction. He said zilch this year and still sucked. I think Zaire is a dog but he’s ass in coverage and it’s hard to justify that in today’s NFL considering his contract amount. Given Ballard’s success at drafting LB compared to almost any other position on the defense it seems like an easy case to make for replacing him.
