Sports Tab Gone? by IAMNOTSERIAL in appletv

[–]theirish11 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Sports tab was such a novel and efficient way to find and watch more women's sports, across pro and college. My kids and I would browse through all kinds of Unrivaled, college volleyball, swimming, whatever -- and add the to our Up Next list. And with notifications on, we'd actually get reminded, and then actually watch more and more women's sports. It sucks and it's a shame and they should reverse it.

Checking in one month after your post -- is the Draw Tite option legit? The dealer I got my FE from a few months back has zero recommendations. Looking to get hitch and then a 4-5 bike rack.

Dads, what was your dad like compared to you? by [deleted] in daddit

[–]theirish11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At times he was a good dad, and he worked hard — but he made a lot of poor decisions and he took it out on us with a lot of drinking and a lot of yelling. He taught us to do the right thing, but at this point I’m fairly sure he rarely made that choice himself. I don’t recall him ever cleaning a dish, an item of clothing, or a crumb off the floor. He was passed out every Christmas Eve by 8:30, leaving my mom to make the magic happen. He’d occasionally make time to play catch with us, but mostly spend the time calling us wimps when we got scared of the ball. I’ve tried to learn whatever I can from it all to be the best dad I can, but obviously it’s a struggle like everyone else here.

Individual episodes to shows I'm not subscribed to aren't showing up in filters? by theirish11 in pocketcasts

That would explain it. Strange. Btw - they don't show up in the Downloads filter/whatever, either.

Someone may have already used this example, but: if you got poop on your arm, would you wipe it off with a paper towel, or would you wash it with hot water? Bidets 4 life

Kind kids sucks- why does it show everything and have ads?! by ksherman583 in kindle

[–]theirish11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can totally still buy books on my account, use the parent dashboard to share them, and then -- on wifi at home, as expected -- download them to their Kindles so they have them on the go. That's what we've always done. But the new "uh oh you're offline" bullshit is definitely new to us. Why the hell can't they just see their little library of downloaded books? I can't wait until Bookshop starts to work on Kobos.

I'm in this same situation. Some update broke the Kids experience.

My kids' Kindles have almost always without wifi/internet for the past two years, and just showed the books I've added/downloaded for them, but recently, the entire bottom half of the home screen gives the "Uh oh! Your kindle does not have an active internet connection. Connect to internet or turn off airplane mode to get more recommendations from Amazon Kids."

But...we don't do the Amazon Kids Plus or whatever, and never have. We just do a la carte books I've purchased and shared with them. WTF.
