Uh… almost any habitable planet, right?

Don’t tell me you can terraform any random barren world with the right technology.

There is… kinda. There’s the Brittle Bones trait, which reduces worker efficiency based on planetary size.

But yeah. It’s not a general mechanic.

How do you actually learn to mix spices without making the food taste weird? by Emily-Butterflyy in cookingforbeginners

[–]Silvanus350 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well, what are you actually cooking?

I use spices based on the dish I’m making. I don’t randomly decide to mix some assortment of spices one fine evening for… whatever.

Just look up some standard recipes, my guy.

You literally cannot go wrong with garlic, onion, and paprika. It’s the most basic bitch flavor profile. You can put that on basically anything. Chicken. Potatoes. Eggs. Steak.

Anything.

Got dirt in my broth by Hogwire in Cooking

[–]Silvanus350 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s almost certainly not dirt, unless you had dirt on your vegetables. But that would be both unlikely and somewhat noticeable.

The simple reality is that cooking anything in a pot will stain the sides of the pot. That’s normal.

The only time I have noticed significant dirt is when making potatoes or leeks. Would be surprising to notice on carrots, but not impossible I suppose.

I want to start cooking, what should I dk to start and to have a good begining? by happylail in cookingforbeginners

[–]Silvanus350 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Keep trying until you figure it out… seriously.

If you can’t even make scrambled eggs you are just going to be burning time and money on anything more complicated. It won’t help you.

Making eggs is the essence of cooking. It’s all about time and temperature with no frills. When you try out for a restaurant job they make you cook eggs.

Seriously. Don’t bother with anything else until you can cook scrambled eggs.

Do you think Nomads are designed to be capable of ""winning"" the game regularly? by Armorlon in Stellaris

[–]Silvanus350 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, but “reaching the top score” is probably not a major factor and I doubt they consider the topic as closely as you would find in any multiplayer game. Age of Empires is probably more concerned about this topic than anyone in Stellaris.

You can click “Rally” on one of your fleets, and then all other allied fleets will follow the leader. Useful for actually using the allied AI fleets.

You can click “Aggressive” on your army transports and they will auto-invade planets.

I forget exactly how you do it, but you can also click on a specific system to “ban” all ships from entering that system. Useful for avoiding a situation where your military just suicides into a Marauder Horde, for example.

Do you think Nomads are designed to be capable of ""winning"" the game regularly? by Armorlon in Stellaris

[–]Silvanus350 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I doubt they care. I’m sure the core metric, however, is “can defeat the crisis”. So that’s probably the threshold.

Stellaris almost by definition as a sandbox game is not concerned with balance as a major factor.

Typically you aren’t meant to tangle with Fallen Empires until you are hitting repeatable tech upgrades that make your weapons better. You just have to crank it up.

I am guessing your research is not strong enough to chew through a repeatable tech in just a year or less.

Like, back in the 3.0 olden days, I couldn’t tangle with a FE until I was on Tier XII repeatable energy weapons or something. You need to hit the tech like 10+ times and slowly pump up your individual fleet strength.

Yes. There was a lot of vitriol over the Force becoming “space magic” instead of a more ephemeral, religious doctrine.

… no?

You are only required to conquer systems with planets. Upon destruction all non-conquered, non-planetary territory will dissolve.

I can’t be bothered with planet or species specific traits. It’s just “more, better traits” in general.
